Recent government-backed surveys have opened previously restricted areas, collecting over 22,000 line kilometers of seismic data to evaluate the region’s potential. The Andaman oil field could hold up to 184,440 crore liters of crude oil—comparable to Guyana’s massive offshore reserves.
