@Cooper00Nicola @pete_stubbs1 No such thing as a locum GP Reg. They have strict supervision requirements, so if a surgery needs a locum they would need a qualified GP. So many reasons why it isn’t possible to mimic the hospital training tree in a GP environment.

10.15pm and after a long week on-call @KTheivendran is hoovering our teenager daughters bedroom. He is trying to prove there can’t possibly be any spiders. I’m staying out of this one!

@TUIUK what a dreadful experience calling your helpline after the website crashed during a booking. Money paid but no-one able to say whether booking confirmed or not. How is this right?

Amazing what @KTheivendran can make with the assistance of a teenage daughter. Birthday Cheesecake for my Dad 🎂.

@Liz_ORiordan @DrLindaDykes My breast cancer was treated before they used PREDICT, but I just ran the numbers as best I could and was given 15% benefit. Pretty glad I was given it rather than warned about the dangers of it.

This is the new transcript form Dr Louise Newson’s podcast after I challenged her for dangerous, incorrect info about chemo for breast cancer. She said she would change it. She hasn’t. She’s left it in and tagged on a vague explanation, which is wrong. We ALWAYS use NHS Predict or an equivalent to work out the benefit of chemo, and it’s highly unlikely that an oncologist would recommend chemo if the benefit was only 2% She could have said that chemo is generally only given if the benefit is 5% - as I said in my original tweet yesterday, and that for many women the benefit is much higher, and not made chemo sound quite as scary or unnecessary. But she didn’t. My worry is that if someone stops listening after the first false statement, they won’t hear her justify it and could go on to refuse chemo.

Dear Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Lid, Aldi, Waitrose, Morrisons, and all other stores that have self checkout. You are heading towards almost exclusively self-checkout now. The lady checking receipts at the exit was stopping everyone. I didn't choose to participate in that nonsense, I had already 🛒 filled my cart 🛒 emptied my cart 🛒 scanned the items 🛒refilled my cart and so I just skipped the exit line and left. I heard her saying "umm - Excuse me " as I kept walking and raised the receipt above my head, leaving the store. You can either trust me to do self-checkout, or you can put your cashiers back in place like it used to be. I'm not interested in proving that I did your job for you. • If you want me to be a cashier with no training then that's vour problem not mine. • Keep employing young people and give them job opportunities. YOU DON'T PAY ME TO SCAN MY OWN SHOPPING. YOU DON'T GIVE ME STAFF DISCOUNT FOR WORKING FOR YOU. Signed ....All of us These are jobs that are needed to have for young and old

@Dr_BellaR I went back 2 months after completing radiotherapy for breast cancer. Prior to that I had chemo and surgery. 3 months phased return. Med SpR at the time.

@GerettiAnna @DrPeterWeeks1 For one of our local hospitals I cannot even see the results. We have no access to their computer results system, and as an out of area GP practice have never been granted access. We get many patients booking appointments to get results after consultants instructions.

This may be unpopular with some but. Please don’t contact your GP re test results that were ordered in hospital by your consultant . It is their responsibility to let you know the results not the GPs. This helps avoid frustration for everyone. 🙏
