Considero a Adam Back el creador de la PoW. Sí, existe un paper anterior (que Adam no conocía) publicado 5 años antes que proponía algo muy parecido. Pero en ingeniería no basta con tener buenas ideas (papers): hay que hacerlas. Por eso Satoshi cita a Adam, no a Dwork&Naor.

@cobo2bofb @satoshienvzla @adam3us Sí, es algo conocido. Lo que no es tan conocido es que Adam desarrolló Hascash SIN CONOCER ese paper previo (algo no infrecuente). Es algo que menciona en la página original del proyecto Hashcash. También explica que usó un método diferente (SHA1 en lugar de raíces cuadradas).
