Calling Jesus "Yeshua" is a weird one for me. The inspired Greek text of the NT calls Him Iesous, meaning God The Holy Spirit is fine with it. Jesus is a simple transliteration of this name. If you speak Aramaic, then sure, fine. But you don't, you speak English.

So fucking tired of this genre of meme. We’ve seen what happens when leftist extremists take over countries. It devolves into tyrannical, oppressive rule much like right wing extremism does whenever it takes power. The motives are better but the outcomes still suck.

🚨BREAKING: James Bond's casting director has said Bond should remain WHITE and MALE "Ian Fleming wrote a character, and that's the character that stays"

In search of things like the monomyth you get people saying “did you know Jesus drank wine, that’s just like Dionysus!” Ohh what did Dionysus do to people who denied his divinity? “Uhh he drove everyone mad causing the city to devolve into an orgy of sex and murder.”

Christianity (other Abrahamic religions too tbf) is one of those things that becomes more insane the more you learn about it. Like, "oh, the character of Jesus is basically a rebrand of Dionysus and similar figures that existed centuries prior to Christianity? Neat"

Library books 5yo wanted: - girl animal learns to be brave - boy knight would rather read fairy tales than fight - brave girl saves lots of animals It’s all just so tiresome

Harry Potter will unfortunately always be nostalgia bait for some but for real guys the world building is objectively shit

What fucking timeline are we in?

Something my Catholic mother taught me from a young age: do not speak ill of the dead. That includes friends, enemies, people you loathe, celebrities, even notorious criminals. The only proper Christian —and dare I say human —response to news of death is to pray for their soul.

@retarded__woman nope, we absolutely do not shame people on book choice

Alexander Hamilton was shot and killed by Vice President Aaron Burr during a pistol duel in New Jersey on this day in 1804.

@sociologyWV In college, I showed REMO WILLIAMS to a buddy who was Korean. His two criticisms were that it was messed up that Chiun was played by a white guy in yellowface, and also that there should have been more of Chiun’s hilarious dialogue about how awesome Koreans are.
