Former Labour MP Karl Turner tells @lewis_goodall the results in Hull are "catastrophic" and "terrible, to put it mildly" across the country. Says Starmer's leadership gets brought up time and time again on the doorstep as it's "toxic" Hits out at "more of the same" from the Govt. Says he doesn't want the PM to quit or set a timetable but they need to "get a grip". "They want someone to speak their mind, someone who is authentic. Keir Starmer is capable of that but we've not had it recently... "Daft ideas, no pitchrolling, ignoring the PLP... treating the backbenchers with absolute contempt. Stop it now, let's try and work together to get us through this situation and mend it. At the moment we're heading off the edge of a cliff." @LBC Says Angela Rayner would be "my choice" but says he would prefer Starmer "I backed him to be leader... but he's treated us as a legal necessary to get votes through"

@JohnCleese @JohnCleese check what you are posting, reposting. You're boosting some pretty vile accounts on X and some of the most ridiculous falsehoods.

@JohnCleese Yeah fair enough John but you've been reposting some pretty dubious stuff recently - don't fall into that moral panic narrative about colonization etc. it's a slippery slope and the same crap I get told as a Londoner by people I meet outside of London who get it from Facebook.

I think there's one very important point to be made about religious people It's the fundamentalists of each religion that bring religion into disrepute As Christ nearly said " The literal-minded are always with us "

The Panamá story seems a really important for understanding today’s Venezuela actions in the context of American expansionism. Theodore Roosevelt wanted to discuss the possibility of a canal through Panamá with Columbia ( of which Panama was then a part ). Columbia refused 🧵

@JonathanPieNews As others have said - you're now sharing and amplifying the grift project of Paul Staines, someone who makes Darren Grimes look like a reputable journalist by comparison. What happened? See you and read you again perhaps when you back to where you started.

People who do weights, why can't I get as low squatting with a barbell as I can without? It's clearly not hip mobility, and coming back up isn't a problem – just the way down!

@NeilDotObrien No it's not. It's great. It's welcoming and diverse. The air is cleaner. Free school meals for all. Great transport. Jump off the Khan-bashing bandwagon, the main reason for the bad stuff is years of your party ripping out investment and funding for communities and services.

@GeorgeKamel It's more of a flex than a car on PCP but how about this - the better flex is no car and renting a car whenever needed. Most cars live in the garage/side of road depreciating. End car ownership, reclaim communal space and end perpetual economic reliance on shiny metal objects.
