ANC SECRETARY GENERAL | Fikile Mbalula
[WATCH] ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION CHALLENGES We have a challenge of illegal immigrants. This manifests in different ways such as human trafficking, drugs. This challenge rises because amongst others the issue of borders.l that are porous. Hence we have worked very hard to create and strengthen the border management authority. We are not reacting because these measures were announced amongst others the labour inspectors during the Presidents state of the nation address. We must also ensure that our laws preserve small businesses for South Africans like it happens in other country’s. We have an issue of undocumented migrants owning and running spaza shops in our country. This issue must be dealt with by the relevant authorities. #PostNECbriefing #ANCmediaBriefing #YearOfDecisiveAction

When a relative dies from a car accident, it’s important to go call back/collect their spirit from where the accident happened, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen wandering spirits along the road 🤦🏽‍♀️ it’s dangerous for other drivers, please do the needful 🙏🏾💛

My wife cheated and walked away from our family. But it didn’t last. He kicked her out, and now she has nothing. Our kids live with me, and they’re hurting watching their mother struggle. They love her, and I respect that. Family and friends keep telling me I should help her for the sake of the kids because I have the resources. But another part of me feels sick even thinking about it. Because this woman shattered me. She lied, betrayed me, and abandoned our family. And now that her fantasy collapsed, am I supposed to rescue her? What if helping her only pulls me back into the same pain I barely survived? Coach should I take her back? --From my Dm, please share your advice for him.

@RonaldLamola Spineless cowards. Only if people took a strong stance with regard to curbing illegal immigration and securing boarders. Stop bowing down to nonsense, address what South Africans are crying about; illegal immigrants

Minister: International Relations and Cooperation
Thank you for the telephone conversation this morning. We look forward to receiving information on the alleged extra-judicial killings. To date, there has been no credible information availed. We are a nation of the rule of law, and we will continue to ensure all people within our country feel free and safe. We maintain that while Nigeria has a sovereign right to make a decision with regard to the repatriation of its willing citizens, we remain of the view that calls for repatriations will not be able to address the full scale of irregular migration. We also believe that engagements on migration should be evidence-based, deal with push and pull factors, and avoid fearmongering. The South African government continues to condemn attacks on foreign nationals, and it maintains that law enforcement must decisively deal with any violence against foreign nationals in South Africa. We look forward to ensuring that this matter is handled in a manner that maintains our enduring bilateral relations.
Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu@Ojukwu_Bianca

This morning, I had a phone conversation with Hon Ronald Lamola, South Africa Foreign Affairs Minister who expressed concern and misgivings concerning the plans by the government of Nigeria to evacuate its citizens desirous of leaving the Republic of South Africa due to the recent xenophobic attacks and anti-foreigner sentiments openly expressed during continuing anti-migrant protests in South Africa, the latest of which took place in Durban, South Africa, yesterday 6th May 2026. I maintained that our Government cannot stand by and watch the systematic harrasment and humiliation of our nationals resident in SA as well as the extra-judicial killings of our people, and that the evacuation of our citizens who want to return home remains our Government's priority at this time . I also highlighted the need for their police and justice systems to take the cases on ground of extra-judicial killings of Nigerians in South Africa more seriously and that there should be clear and immediate consequences for such acts. Yesterday's protests in Durban did not record acts of violence as there was heavy security presence. However Nigerians were advised to close their shops and businesses and stay largely indoors by Mission. Our discussions also centered on the violent and indiscriminate rhetoric and actions of South Africa's anti-foreigner political parties which puts the lives and properties of Nigerian and other Nationals at risk, but which conversely might also have the effect jeopardizing the safety of South African interests in Nigeria. Nigerians have exercised, and continue to demonstrate commendable restraint, in their response to the ongoing crisis. I also brought to his attention, having engaged with some of our Nationals resident with their families in South Africa, the unfortunate fact that Nigerian Children as well as children born of both Nigerian and South African parents (referred to as 'Sougerians' ) are being wrongfully bullied in schools and taunted to 'return to their country'. This is reprehensible and capable of causing trauma to young minds for whom such incidents may remain etched in memory. Hon. Lamola informed that the SA authorities recognise that they have a responsibility to protect these innocent children and doing their utmost through education supervisory bodies to discourage these practices. While we both pledged to continue to work together to de-escalate this crisis, noting the vehement condemnations of the President of South Africa, President Cyril Ramaphosa and SA Government of the prevailing state of affairs, what is worrisome to our citizens both in Nigeria and those resident in South Africa is that the demand that all foreigners leave South Africa, appears to be targeted only towards black Africans which makes one wonder whether what is happening should not be more accurately defined as 'Afriphobia' rather than Xenophobia. The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed that the Nigerian Missions in South Africa set up , with immediate effect, a crisis notifications unit for imperiled citizens who have also been advised first and foremost to contact SA security authorities whenever dangerous situations arise.

Health care should not be free for foreigners in South Africa, South Africa is the only country with free healthcare for foreigners. When I was still living in China, they’d not assist you at the hospital before paying the free. No matter how urgent your situation is!

This is wrong in all respects. That's what the apartheid regime did to Steve Biko. It might be nice to your ears and eyes for now but this is inhumane and disrespectful. Who's this guy? A murderer or an honorable member of parliament who went about doing what he's elected to do?
