Alejandro Davidovich Fokina keeps his status of best player in the world that never won a tour-level title. Just like in Delray, he was 5-2 up in the 3rd and had multiple match points. Absolutely BRUTAL.

The Federer Nadal monopoly was shattered by Djokovic against all odds. Will anybody be mighty enough to shatter the Carlos Sinner monopoly?

One hand can change your life! 😱 I keep thinking about this hand 🤯 On DAY 1 of the @WSOP Main Event @LeoMargets put a player all in with only 15k chips behind her with a (semi-bluff-ish?) move against DeSantis who had her beat, putting him in for his tournament life… Had he called, she would have had only 15k behind on her FIRST day (which may have changed the trajectory of her tournament course). How exhilarating that she’s at the 2025 Main Event Final Table instead… already changing history! 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 Speaks volumes on the volatility of poker, being able to read your opponent’s vulnerabilities, and being unafraid to make a bold move (at any stage of the tournament) @PokerGO @PokerNews @pokerorg @Winamax

Will Kassouf was just informed that after his tournament he will be escorted to get paid out and then not welcomed back for the remainder of the 2025 WSOP. He has officially overstayed his welcome. #WSOP2025

@BenRothenberg Unless Navarro gets the easiest draw in sports history it’s gotta be one of the previous three. Maybe Pegula.

Said it on BBC a bit ago, but if Anisimova wins #Wimbledon on Saturday, American women could be 3/4 of the way to a remarkable "Relay Slam," using four different players to sweep the 2025 majors. That's never been done before. Plenty of plausible anchor leg runners, too.

Ben Shelton says he’s never seen anything like Jannik Sinner’s ball speed, ‘I’ve never seen anything like it. You don’t see anything like it when you’re going through the draw. When you play him it’s almost like things are in 2x speed’ “There’s only 2 guys who are beating you in Slams these days. I’m wondering if you see it that way… and what do you think when you think about it and go to the practice court, what are you focused on in terms of trying to close the gap? Ben: “It’s frustrating. There’s a lot of things. It’s two very different players and challenges. With Sinner who I’ve played the most, his ball speed is really high. I’ve never seen anything like it. You don’t see anything like it when you’re going through the draw. When you play him it’s almost like things are in 2x speed. I’m usually pretty good at adjusting to that speed. It’s difficult when a guy is hitting the ball that big that consistently off both wings and serving the way he is. I had the right idea for a lot of the match today. I served a lot better than I did in Australia. Smarter. Just went for it. But my first serve percentage dropped in the moments I needed it. I probably played too tentative. It was almost like a lot of the forehands I was hitting that you need to go for against a guy like that, I was kind of spinning them, topping out. Like I was playing on a slower hard court or a clay court. For me I’m still learning on the grass what works and what’s most effective. I didn’t have a great day today of doing things that were gonna make him uncomfortable.” (via Wimbledon Press)
