I have no beef with Mamdani. Personally, I am pro-Israel, and I think it is colossally foolish to be otherwise.

He doesn’t really have any evidence that Mamdani is an evil Islamist and that his liberal tolerant views are fake. Even in this video he cites his wife’s Instagram likes because his evidence is that weak. That is disappointing from someone like him as I do like his other work. He is acting like a typical pro-Israel fanatic. He might as well do an op-ed in the New York Post lol.

I thought you meant Sam Harris’s concern on Islam was hysterical, reflected in his views on Mamdani, which I’d disagree with. Concern about Islam can be valid, and I think Sam judges Mamdani based on his views, not religion.

@squidsee @jefferytezos @AliceFromQueens According to the global terrorism index the 4 deadliest groups in 2025 were Islamic State, JNIM, TTP, & al-Shabaab (all Islamist/jihadist groups) & that together they were responsible for 3,869 deaths, or about 70% of all terrorism fatalities that year. Doesn’t seem hysterical.

Sure but does he criticize Jewish extremists? Jewish extreme views do result in a lot of deaths and absolutely irrational stuff. I see a double standard here that would come from having some sort of bias. Maybe not racism but something. And the idea that Mamdani wants to start a caliphate in nyc is just dumb.

Prior to this tragedy, the court had already found his career fallout affected his mental health. It would be foolish not to account for that.

I agree that drawing conclusions from limited evidence is foolish, but that includes blaming this tragedy on "false allegations." It's far more plausible that he was just a violent man.

He struggled with alcoholism and depression, both known to heavily affect behavior, and both reportedly absent earlier in his life. Drawing conclusions from this limited evidence is just foolish imo.

@odessaphi52 @janecoaston How exactly? They are different allegations, and the facts of one do not prove the facts of the other. That is precisely why prior bad acts are often inadmissible in court.
