When I was a few years out of undergrad, I was turning around a business during the day and studying for the GMAT at night. A mentor from church asked why I was so busy, so I told him that. He was a senior executive at International Paper. I told him after B-School I planned to get into I-banking and then PE. He said, once you get into banking (I think he meant finance in general), you will meet the worst people that you have ever met in your life. He was right, I’ve met some real pieces of work. Not judging them, I don’t know how they grew up, etc. But, for every real piece of work I’ve met in finance, I’ve met more really good people. A lot on this app.
