Hey @BUFABrock members… we have an important election Wednesday! If undecided on President, I’d encourage casting your ballot for Michelle Webber! First hand, her strong, consultative, thoughtful leadership has guided us through some of the darkest recent times. #VoteWebber

After 3 years of avoiding it, #COVID finally caught up to our family. But apparently my 5yo—who is asymptomatic but super positive—is supposed to go to school tomorrow like normal? Our province has decided it’s fine for him to infect 30+ kids and his teachers? #onted #onpoli

@richardsmiriam1 @karampbell This reminds me of a class last term - I made an online practice exam with a large question pool that would pull different questions each time, and the students could try it an unlimited number of times before the real exam. And about 50% of them didn’t even open it once!

What’s it like being a parent in Ontario right now? Last week, both kids were sick and home from school for most of the week. Now, after precisely two days back in school, my 4yo is sick AGAIN with a fever, in a province with no meds. The parents are not alright. #OntEd #OnPoli

@MatthewMelnyk It’s been the same for us, Matt. Just an endless cycle. We’re barely getting by at this point.

This fall has been relentless on kids and parents. We’ve all been fighting one illness or another since September. It’s exhausting.

So let’s see… 📍surge in pediatric respiratory illness filling every PICU bed in Ontario 📍children are BY FAR the most COVID infected -before- vaccine was even available to them 📍by a virus we know causes immune dysregulation. Is this not obvious? @DFisman @TRyanGregory

CHEO Ottawa@CHEO

“Unprecedented”- there’s no better word to describe the crisis at #CHEO. Yesterday, we reassigned our Surgical Day Unit and redeployed clinicians from all areas of the hospital to open a second Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Here's how YOU can help: ow.ly/xbOO50Lz7Te

@Todd_Green77 Oh Todd, I’m so sorry! We’ve been in an unending cold cycle this year - one kid gets sick and it bounces between all of us, and this repeats over and over. It feels like it’s only a matter of time until it’s Covid. Wishing a speedy recovery to your little guy.

My son has his 3rd cold this school year (negative PCR tests each time) and he had zero colds for over two years when masks were in place at schools. He's also the only kid in his class who still masks. The lack of leadership and example setting is staggering.
