"Are we ethicists, or not? A ‘complicated’, ‘uncomfortable’, ‘political’ ethical problem is no less an ethical problem." I wrote an editorial for the @JME_BMJ on Israel's wide-ranging destruction of health in Gaza. It's free to read here: jme.bmj.com/content/50/5/2…

The meaninglessness of doing bioethics: Reality check from a conflict zone Bioethics "risks being discarded into the bin of the irrelevant if it does not offer practical solutions to the challenges thrown up by lived experiences." pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31540891/

Up for a walk on a sunny spring/summer day? Plant Power! is a trail I've designed around antimicrobial resistance, plants, and ethics. The Oxford Botanic Garden @OBGHA have just launched it, so pick up a brochure at the entrance and enjoy a walk! #AMR @Ethox_Centre

In this commentary we question the ethical foundation of assigning climate protection duties to healthcare workers. Limited capacity, lack of authority in value judgments, and institutional boundaries pose challenges. jme.bmj.com/content/early/…

GoGuardian monitors millions of students. EFF analyzed actual websites that the student monitoring tool marked as "explicit," and found that thousands of students are flagged every day for visiting sites that are benign, and often, educational. redflagmachine.org via @eff

Really appreciated this discussion. Something I often worry about is that the fear of doing bioethics that looks like advocacy will silence us on the most important areas. The targeting of hospitals, press, and others in Gaza is a bioethics issue. The war is a bioethics issue.

"War creates patients." @LedermanZohar on some of the reasons why bioethicists should pay attention to Israel's war on Gaza.

Many Psychologists claim we should stay out of politics, that it is not our job to have an opinion on sociopolitical issues, but no amount of psychological intervention will help any person if their basic needs like adequate housing are not met.

“My home is killing me.” For 14 years, Fatima has been living in social housing that she says is making her sick. So when her landlord was nominated for a social housing award, she went to the ceremony to confront them. @MilenaDambelli went with her. youtube.com/watch?v=5WWozP…
