This morning, I joined @PremierFord and @MinisterJones and my fellow Durham MPPs at @LakeridgeHealth Oshawa to announce the new Whitby Hospital along with several other significant investments into the Region of Durham's healthcare. This is what it means to #GetItDone.

The digging is done. Now we build up. 🏗️ At Darlington, we've completed excavation across three shafts supporting our first SMR unit and shared services. Two will support the tunnel boring machine that will build the deep water intake for all four of our planned SMRs. The third will provide the foundation for the Western world's first grid-scale SMR. Over the past year, we’ve been hard at work strengthening our world-class postsecondary and research sectors. From $160 million to drive homegrown innovation, to nearly 200,000 newly funded seats, to a $6.4B historic funding model, it's been a year of building our talent pipeline and ensuring Ontario remains on the cutting edge of innovation. I'm proud of the progress we've made, and I can't wait to see all we will accomplish in the year to come.

Ontario’s Primary Care Action Plan has beaten its 2025-2026 attachment targets, connecting more than 330,000 people to primary care since it was launched last year. We’re building on this success with a new Primary Care Medical Record system that will make health care more connected, secure and convenient for patients across Ontario. We’re also launching 124 new primary care teams provincewide and increasing overall funding for the plan to a historic $3.4 billion.
