This morning, I joined @PremierFord and @MinisterJones and my fellow Durham MPPs at @LakeridgeHealth Oshawa to announce the new Whitby Hospital along with several other significant investments into the Region of Durham's healthcare. This is what it means to #GetItDone.

On nuclear energy, Ontario had the foresight to recognize long ago what much of the world is only realizing today. After 70 years of civilian nuclear leadership, Ontario is leading North America's largest expansion, building on-time and on-budget. As nations invest to double their grids, nuclear power is the only answer at scale to generate 24/7 reliable, clean, and affordable power over an 80 year lifespan.

Today, I had the honour of joining @MichaelParsa , Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, for the official opening of the Ronald McDonald House Ottawa expansion. Investments like this strengthen our healthcare system and ensure families have the support they need.

The Northern Shield Energy Corridor will bring 500,000 barrels of Canadian oil per day to refineries in Sarnia, creating good-paying jobs in communities like St. Clair Township and across the country while strengthening our energy security. We’re building a stronger, more secure and more self-reliant Canada.

I am devastated by the senseless violence at the Salsa on St. Clair Festival that has claimed two lives and injured others. My thoughts are with the victims, their families and everyone affected. Thank you to Toronto Police and our first responders for responding to this horrific incident. The person responsible must be caught, brought to justice and spend the rest of their life behind bars.
