Why do they “have to overpay”
Ryan O’Hearn was available for 2-30 Stearns opted to overpay for Polanco 2-40
Quintana last year would have signed for pennies and Stearns went with Manaea 3-75
Murakami settled for an extremely cheap deal to be a DH, Stearns opted 42 m + 2 player options for Bichette to learn new positions
There were reasonable moves to be made, he just didn’t make them

I do have a thought about this payroll thing. The Dodgers are the Dodgers they dont count......... These other teams like Mets seemingly have to overpay for free agents all the time, and things like this can happen IMO. And these short term insane AAV Mets deals dont help.

Nobody likes to lose but I saw some “ green shoots tonight “. On offense, Lindor had two hits including a home run. Bichette got a double hitting it to left field as opposed to recently being right field prone. Benge got a solid hit. Soto started his running progression today. Semien hit a shot that might have been a home run on a warmer night. Finally, Nolan McLean pitched an outstanding game going 7 innings. Hang in there fans, we will turn this around !

We can argue Judge didn’t have the best WBC but it’s unfair to label him as one of the ones who didn’t care. Blame Skubal. Blame Derosa. Blame USA baseball for selecting guys like Kershaw, Goldschmidt, and Bregman when there’s so many better and younger options. Blame the fragile MLB coaching staffs who care more about the near meaningless first 5-10 games of the season. Blame the agents.

So last night, Elon Musk blocked me and called me a “retard.”
Not because I attacked him.
Not because I insulted him.
But because I asked him a question.
Elon posted data showing that white populations in large cities are declining relative to minority groups, and then declared, “Whites are a dying minority.”
I replied with a simple question: “Why is this a problem?”
That was it.
Within an hour, I was blocked. Elon didn’t answer the question. Instead, he implied I was mentally deficient and retweeted an out-of-context post, conveniently after blocking me so I couldn’t respond.
Elon, I remember when you claimed to care about free speech, open debate, and criticism. All I did was ask why this was supposedly a problem. And the fact that that question triggered this reaction tells us everything.
None of us are 100% “white.” Race is a social construct, not a biological threat level.
Oh and I know a bunch of antisemites will respond telling me I’m “jewish” so I’m not white. Well you are either you bigots.

Today, ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters began blocking ICE officers and one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them—an act of domestic terrorism. An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots. He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers. The alleged perpetrator was hit and is deceased. The ICE officers who were hurt are expected to make full recoveries. This is the direct consequence of constant attacks and demonization of our officers by sanctuary politicians who fuel and encourage rampant assaults on our law enforcement who are facing 1,300% increase in assaults against them and an 8,000% increase in death threats. This is an evolving situation, and we will give the public more information as soon as it becomes available.
