With over 13,000,000 (~$30m) to be delegated, the ICF has restructured its process to prioritize validators with real contributions to the ecosystem, and to increase decentralization by expanding the eligible validator set by 30%. Previous iterations of the delegation program were based on more generic application systems that led to low-accountability promises. This updated version focuses on more concentrated, defined-expectation deliverables from validators. The transition of @base from @ethereum Layer-2 to the @cosmos ecosystem could be an extremely logical and advantageous strategic move based on the unique advantages that Cosmos offers in terms of autonomy interconnection and scalable performance. Cosmos known as the "Internet of Blockchains" enables the construction of independent customized blockchains (appchains) that maintain full sovereignty while seamlessly connecting to other networks through the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol. This would allow Base to break free from the restrictive dependencies of Ethereum such as shared security and high transaction costs during congestion periods and move to a more flexible environment where it can fully control its development and economy. First of all autonomy is a key advantage: In Cosmos Base could use the Cosmos SDK to create a fully customized Layer-1 blockchain with custom modules for consensus tokenomics and applications without being limited by the standards of Ethereum or @Optimism.
