@LouisCTBrown Yes, that of course is a primary motivation. Nonetheless I am against the death penalty on principle and I am certainly against a death penalty that is not equally applied.

I have always been, and always will be, against the death penalty except under extreme circumstances (for example, I believe the execution of Adolf Eichmann was just). A death penalty reserved solely for Palestinian terrorists - not Israeli terrorists - is a further immorality on top of something that, in my view, is already immoral.

I want to start a community dedicated to Claude Code. It’s become the gateway drug to coding and experiencing the power of AI for tons of people. This will be a space for people to share killer use cases, agentic workflows, proven prompts, and connect with other CC obsessives. Comment “Claude” if you want to join.

@tomhyde_ Great point but - at least initially - I think the cost of keeping someone cryogenically frozen would make this a false economy

@eyeslasho Harold Shipman killed almost 300 people in the UK and had had (I think) a basically normal marriage for over 30 years by the time he was caught

@christiandean_ @duralexglass I think the influence of education is overestimated. It’s definitely been captured by the virus and plays a role in spreading it but it’s pretty average at imparting its other values. I think there’s something inherent in ‘wokeness’ (like Marxism) that makes it so infectious

@duralexglass Yeah, the mindvirus quite quickly (or maybe it happened gradually) rose to the top of just about every organisation. Probably because it originated in universities, especially Ivy Leagues, which propogated that generation into all the top institutions.

@MauricioLapchik Why doesn’t Hamas just release the hostages? Why did it kidnap the Bibas children? Why

The Israeli government isn’t fighting to bring the hostages home or protect us from terrorism. Instead, it’s waging a destructive war to build settlements in Gaza and destroy any chance of a political solution. As you all can see, there is no real opposition or leadership here.
יאיר לפיד - Yair Lapid@yairlapid

No friend of Israel should vote for an arms embargo while we are fighting on multiple fronts to protect our people from terrorism and to bring our hostages home. This has nothing to do with your opinion of the current government, it is about standing with the people of Israel.

@DavidDeutschOxf This inverse Turing test - i.e., ‘Can a human behave stupidly enough to fool a person into believing they’re an AI?’ - is, sadly, passed by many people on here

There seem to be a lot of people who respond, on certain triggering subjects, exactly like bots. Mindlessly. I suppose it's not necessary to be able to tell the difference, for that very reason. So long as neither of them flood my timeline.

@RachelMoiselle Judaism obviously originated in what is today Israel but secular Jewish culture (which appears to be the most common) seems to revolve around the european enlightenment much more than a connection to the Levant (and this is a very good thing)

Ashkenazim, Mizrahim, these denote diaspora experiences. Jews are Jews and all have equal connection to Eretz Yisrael. Jewish ethnogenesis is in the Levant and Jewish religion/culture largely revolves around the Land.

@NAChristakis @pmarca This is downstream of whatever morality you already have. If you have very immoral values then you’d be happy for people to do immoral things to you. ‘Promoting the means of error-correction’ - i.e., progress - is the best answer to MA’s question

Quick question: how many doors have the UK police knocked on for online antisemitism? Given that I see it every day from British accounts, they would certainly be very busy.

@ZbynekDrab @MichaelAArouet It should be couples having children in a stable, long-term relationship. Much more difficult to measure but it’s the important factor. When/if a couple gets married may be a good indicator but it’s not the same thing

@MichaelAArouet To declare traditional family gone, I’d need to see a map that includes couples who get married within 2 years of childbirth Many reverse traditional order of operations but do traditional model otherwise
