@NigeriaStories For Nigerians, it’s 25 years experience, 25 qualifications/skillset, have to be the best of the best.
For foreigners: can you do the job? Just come!
We are very insincere with ourselves.
English

@NigeriaStories Very insincere. They will not face the real issues. Instead, they are dancing to the gallery. Talk about the systemic issues…. Talk about the pay for those “500 jobs”. Some will want Nigerians with global talent and want to pay them local rates. Demarketing Nigeria for Nothing.

@instablog9ja May children growing up in Nigeria these days would ask you the same thing.
It’s not Japa that did it.
It’s an improved lifestyle, it’s development.

Report shows that Nigerians have a special gene mutation which keeps them happy. 😳 Nigerians reportedly have the bliss chemical called “Anandamide” reduces the chances of depression, reduces PTSD, and makes it easier to forget painful memories.

@ennamdee @DAZN @DAZNFootball One assumption that may be wrong: “DSTV being a competition in 2026 to any streaming platform”.
DStv in Nigeria is dead and almost buried. We look forward to DAZN is bringing, but their competition isn’t DSTV.
English

DAZN bringing Portable vs Carter Efe isn’t just boxing. It’s strategy.
What we’re seeing looks like a classic Trojan horse play.
DAZN is using influencers, street buzz, and homegrown drama to flood the Nigerian market with its app. Not for boxing… but for what comes next.
This is their known playbook. Enter a market with boxing/MMA (their strongest asset), build distribution, then layer football when the rights open up.
Nigeria is a football-first country. The real prize is the Premier League and European competitions, currently locked down by DSTV.
But DAZN doesn’t need to compete head-on yet. They just need one thing first, distribution.
Get the app on millions of phones. Own the audience. Then wait.
We’ve seen this exact strategy before.
OPay didn’t build ORide, OFood, and OBus to dominate logistics. Those were acquisition tools, used to force app adoption at scale before pivoting fully into fintech.
The rides were the bait. The wallet was the endgame.
Same pattern here.
Portable vs Carter Efe isn’t random content.
It’s culturally relevant, highly shareable, and perfect for pulling in Gen Z and mobile-first users.
Once that audience is locked in, DAZN is positioned. All it takes is one major football rights deal, and the entire sports streaming hierarchy in Nigeria shifts overnight.
DAZN isn’t trying to be a boxing platform, Boxing is just the entry point.
They’re playing the long game, and if you’re paying attention, you’ll see it clearly.
DSTV isn’t under pressure yet…but this is exactly how monopolies are dethroned.

@gbengasaka Good speech. Listened to everything. Looking forward to the actual implementation. Great work. We await hearing from Bi-Courtney side 🤝👏
English

The 20-year MM2 dispute was resolved today via a negotiated settlement approved by the Federal Executive Council.
Bi-Courtney wrote off the N132bn Supreme Court judgment debt, dropped the exclusivity clause, and handed MM1 back to FG.
In exchange, FG returned the hotel/conference centre project (to complete & operate on shared basis), will shift regional flights to MM2 (with apron expansion if needed), and immediately starts earning revenue share.
Win-win deal.
This Deal also unlocks MMA2’s full potential, clears the path for Lekki Airport, and includes plans for a private-sector-driven aircraft leasing company to support Nigerian airlines.
Kudos To the honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace, notably, Minister @fkeyamo and Wale Babalakin @WaleBabalakin @Babalakinandco , both SANs and members of the Inner Bar, played a key role, leveraging their relationship to reach this breakthrough.
This is another win for this administration in the aviation sector 🫡🙌🏾

@aproko_doctor I found it very convenient during the Christmas season. I didn’t need to bother about what do I get for people. I just got generic cards and you could use them anywhere and for whatever you want….. sent multiple to friends, family, bank relationship managers etc..

@instablog9ja They rush to cushion aviation fuel; but allow the citizens face headlong changes in petrol prices (that affects their lives in more ways than they know).
Congratulations Nigerians. Your resilience is being rewarded handsomely 🤝
English

@larryklin @dammiedammie35 What should be your concern as a citizen with what is happening in other climes? Should you not be concerned about what your government should do to alleviate that? People are failing in their duties, but have citizens like you willing to defend their idiocy.
English

@dammiedammie35 The silly thing about this guy is that, he a journalist which I seriously doubt. He won't tell you what other clime are facing. How much they buy the fuel and how long they stay in queue to get it.
English

“I went to the fueling station to get fuel this morning and it turns out from N1,225, the price has gone up to N1,335. The price went up in the space of one day. My question is, with all the subsidy being pulled out by the government, what have you done to stop the people from facing head on these challenges that the economy is bringing to them?”
- Rufai Oseni this morning
English

@dammiedammie35 @PelumiIWC Sadly, when it hit aviation fuel, they were quick to intervene. See how they see the common people whose life is not affected by aviation, but petrol. They do absolutely nothing to cushion the effect of that. It’s clear! They don’t care.
Nigerians, over to you. Do you care?
English

@dammiedammie35 @PelumiIWC Congratulations Nigerians!
Your resilience has brought you to N1,335/L.
