When you're shaking your head to indicate no, you usually turn it to the side and then the other, before turning it again while maintaining eye contact. Momma's hand was always faster than my eyes. I would shake my head to the side just once and her hand will fly to the other side of my face. So, it prevent my other cheek from feeling the pain, I would grudgingly sit down and eat. No mumbling or grumbling as that will be met as above.

@libbyliberalnyc For many years, the use of it’s complicated would make me question myself- even after a Jewish coworker set me straight on Israel (she couldn’t stand it as called out the inequity and how it made her a pariah at the time). People are afraid for step inside the trap of words.

It is the silence among my friends and acquaintances that is particularly eerie when I bring up the subject of Gaza and the savagery and destructiveness of the Zionists and their soldiers and their allied enablers. I often don’t get a direct argument from these IRL acquaintances when I express my rage and frustration. But there seems a vagueness coming back at me. It is crazymaking and stirs up confusion, disappointment and a repulsion that I want to escape immediately. Where exactly do they stand? It doesn’t feel comfortably and spiritually close. Sometimes I get to appreciate their sympathetic facial or verbal expressions, but still it is often limited comfort since there seems not much pro-active energy and outrage sustained by them. No desire for a dynamic discussion. Understandable to a degree, given the more status quo trust of my acquaintances in 24/7 Zionist-run corporate media than myself. But it is not morally responsible of them. It threatens my own sense of moral responsibility. I dislike myself for not exploring and challenging the passivity of their reactions more. Asserting my own morality harder. Scott Peck once declared that “evil is laziness to the nth degree.” We must all strive to exercise conscience. To promote morality. Role model it bravely to others. Expand our own spirituality. If we are not actively a part of the solution, we contribute to the deadweight of the problem. The deadweight of this unconscionably evil problem that desperately needs to be contained for all our sakes.

Survivors allege that soldiers committed acts of torture. Allegedly. Now watch how "allegedly" disappears when the victims are on the other side. Hamas attacked. Hamas massacred. Hamas killed. No "allegedly." No "according to Israeli sources." No epistemic caution. The word "allegedly" is a small word that performs an enormous function. It quarantines doubt. It applies uncertainty surgically, to specific claims, made by specific people, specifically the people whose deaths and suffering the powerful would prefer you to hold at arm's length. It is a one-word editorial policy. It is a one-word verdict on whose testimony counts.

I really want to know what these billionaires' end game is. They take away jobs, replace everything with AI, inflation goes up, healthcare costs increase, and no one can afford rent or food. How are they going to make money if no one can afford their products?
