@ZsaffrynTerra They had a cage ready. Turns out the critters are so tightly controlled (Amazon) that no one can take in a wild animal unless it comes with a police escort.

@ZsaffrynTerra I spent nearly that long in a taxi in my husband’s hometown trying to figure out who could take this fledgling owl that the kids found in the watery ditch just outside our house in Peru. After a vet & the zoo we found you have to take them to the police.

I was not planning on a four hour road trip today, but this baby needs help. We found a rehabilitation and rescue that takes birds of prey. They’re located in the big city though, so here we go!

@rnovak1988 @hyperbQrea “Allowed”? It’s legally mandated that you support your underage kid. If you are not prepared to do that, don’t have any.

@hyperbQrea Why are you bragging about your dad being a disgusting piece of shit? Your grandfather allowed your father to live in his house for eighteen years... and your father didn't allow your grandfather even one day.

My grandfather did this to my dad and my dad didn't let him move in with him when he got old. He fell out of bed in his apartment, couldn't get help, and wasn't discovered for weeks until someone complained about the smell.

Kick Your Kids Out of the House at 18 There was never a question that I would be leaving home at 18. My parents did help me with college, and I came home on the weekends a lot my freshman year, but much less so as time went on. When I got out of college, moving home wasn't an option. My parents didn't want me there, and I would have been ashamed to mooch off them. Instead, I got a crap job, got roommates, and started making it on my own while driving a barely functional car my parents got me in high school. Did I visit? Did I ask for advice? Did I get some help from my parents here and there? Absolutely. But you're not really an adult living your own life until you're out of your parents' house. "Oh, but it's tougher today...." No, it's not. Early on, my jobs sucked. I always had roommates. I had very little money. It was not fun, but I sucked it up and made it work. That doesn't make me exceptional; it just means I was doing what an adult was expected to do. One way or the other, kids shouldn't be staying with their parents through their mid-twenties. They need to get out on their own, make their own way, and forge their own identity as something other than Mama and Daddy's little boy or girl.

@nvolpewild Jumping spiders are my favorites - even though I’ve only ever seen one and it was a baby half the size of a flea. But very curious - explored all my things.

@LauraMiers I got it from a Wendy’s chicken sandwich once. My worst case was at a pizza restaurant in Amsterdam - I was the only one of a group to get sick.

My one & only bad case of food poisoning came from a Texas Taco Bell. I was 16, & it was 1997. I never, ever ate it again. My kids have never, ever eaten Taco Bell, & probably never will now. I passed down “We Don’t Eat Taco Bell” like it was ancestral knowledge. And this is why.

Federal and state health officials are reportedly investigating whether Taco Bell restaurants played a role in one of the largest U.S. outbreaks of an illness that causes explosive diarrhea washingtonpost.com/health/2026/07…

@cpatman @RWBB4U @LinkedInLunat1c This is not the motivational story you think it is. It shows all that is broken with the system because of the greed of the oligarchs.

Hmm.. I grew up a janitors son, paid for my own education, got two degrees in computer science and in mathematics, while I begged every professor I could think of let me work in their lab, cleaned buildings at night, tutored whenever I could.. I did concrete in the summers while cleaning buildings at night. I graduated in 2019. I went through everything everyone’s bitching about. I did something about it. And yes it sucked. It sucked being homeless some semesters. I made a decision to take a different path. You have no idea of my impressions, my background. But everyone has an excuse, until you choose to not let it be a crutch. Choose better for yourself, because no one’s coming to save you.

Yeah HR is destroying innovation. If you want a start up culture you have to citrusy test people in interviews if they want industry standard legal breaks they are doomed for mediocre results and don’t belong anywhere near your team. Reduce hours and pay pay for performance only. Let them have their breaks as their performance dwindles (or if I’d doesn’t) pay them appropriately.

@ThatEricAlper They don’t fly in a straight line from origin to destination. There are “air highways” that channel them from one airport’s airspace to the next. I was surprised when an airline pilot friend showed me his air maps.

Last Thursday night I hit my small toe on a door stop. I thought it would be okay in the morning. My other toes have turned purple & the top part of my foot. The color is gone but I still can’t wear a shoe. There’s nothing that can fix it but time?… right? Should I get x-rays?

They just don't make movies like they used to. This is one of the most iconic dance scenes ever put on film, and it's over 70 years old. No CGI. No green screens. Just incredible talent. Can y'all name the movie without looking it up?
