@RLHeinrichs There was never a plan. The US is now proceeding on Operation Little Big Horn, where we drop a few thousand US troops into a hornet's nest of tens of thousands of Iranian troops. Without a coalition, we go back to where we were before. And there is not going to be a coalition.

The US is eliminating the targets on its list, working hand in glove with Israel, sticking close to its original plan. The Gulf states are working with the Israelis (!) and the US to defend critical infrastructure and if there's an intl coalition to help secure the Strait, we can win the peace on terms that are good for us and to the disadvantage of not only Iran but China too.

Relax; neither the U.S. nor Israel is planning a "massive ground invasion" of Iran. If I were a betting man, I'd say they're going to put boots on the ground to seize Kharg Island and MAYBE seize and hold enriched uranium (which is too bulky to move) at a number of already-identified sites in Iran.
