@ACMeli0 A 19 anni ho giocato contro Candela in ciabatte e ho capito che potevo ritirarmi subito, pensa te se si impegnava

@Aaron_Decatur “If the referee penalises an offence but has clearly misidentified the player who committed that offence, only the identity of the offender can be reviewed.” THAT offence, not any other thing the ref missed. Is it too hard to understand?

@LucaB05 @IanDarke What do you mean nothing allows it when clearly, that is exactly what they did. They followed the laws of the game to a T.

Reflecting further on the Embolo red in Switz v Argentina , how was this a case of ‘ mistaken identity’? Who was misidentified ? Embolo cheated and can’t complain but very strange one.

@bengal_afc @IanDarke Nothing in the rule allows the ref to do so. The ‘technicality’ is an invention, the rule is actually pretty clear.

@LucaB05 @IanDarke I think it’s the technicality of the rule that’s the problem. Since he showed Paredes a yellow, he has to show Embolo a yellow when reversing the decision.

@Nicocantor1 The controversy is that since the ref didn’t book him immediately (as he could have done for other simulations in the game) there is no rule that allows him to do so via var. Unless you accept a nonsensical interpretation of the mistaken identity rule, which you seem to do…

Embolo must be feeling a world of guilt upon his shoulders today. Switzerland were flying. They were creating chances. They were putting pressure on Argentina and Scaloni was struggling to find answers. Then he flops, on a yellow. The only controversy is that the referee didn’t book him immediately. A bone-headed decision that sealed the fate of his country. Switzerland perhaps could’ve walked away with their greatest upset ever. From this point on, the game changed entirely.

@jeuasommenulle Don’t see how “the same offence for which the card was shown” can be interpreted in any other way than what it clearly and simply means, which also aligns perfectly with the concept of mistaken identity.

Here’s a full unbiased (I hope) legal analysis of what happened in the Switzerland-Argentina game. The facts: Paredes get a yellow for a tackle, VAR reviewed, ref said it’s a simulation, Embolo was booked, 2nd yellow, red, Argentina won. Was this legal?

I feel like any team that is playing European football shouldn’t be part of the League Cup. Solves the fixture congestion problem and guarantees a European spot for the following season to someone new.

Some of the people I know on this app who wouldn’t say a negative word about the manager openly criticised Mikel Arteta yesterday. Wow!!

Xhaka lost his cool a bit there, but that’s not a red card. No way. He wins 100% of the ball. The officiating has been poor, just like our performance.

In secret meetings held between Arsenal and Thomas Partey in the 2018/19 season, he talked admiringly of Granit Xhaka, and admitted he could envisage playing in tandem with the Switzerland international. [@TheAthleticUK] theathletic.com/2119422/2020/1…

@OrtegaJE @_killa07 @ltarsenal But who were those players? Guendouzi, Elneny, Ceballos? How can you ask him to dominate in that setting? Also the guy has often had the likes of Kola as an outlet, how does that "unlock" someone?

Literally no one wants signings for 'the heck of it' or for 'excitement.' We're 19th in chances created. We absolutely need couple quality midfield additions. We are not Liverpool where we have a great starting 11 and only need to sign squad players. We need a core.
