@EricWelch42 @signor_molevol Send a version of that to the student but begin "someone is trying to contact the college on your behalf." I don't respond to or acknowledge the parent or whomever at all.

When I get an email or call from a parent, my normal response is “Due to FERPA regulations, I can only discuss grades with students directly. If you have questions about your child’s grades, I recommend you discuss it with them directly. To help you understand more fully, you can ask them to show you their individual assignment grades in our learning management system”
