@ThePrimalDino Jared is such a great Administrator. He’s gonna make SLS launch more. He’s going to make Pluto a planet again. He’s not a butthead. (@SenJohnKennedy to @NASAAdmin "We need more people like you in government. We have too many buttheads.")

During our recent #NASASocial at #NASAMichoud, the group got the chance to take a short drive over to @NASAStennis! They viewed the RS-25 engines that will be used for Artemis III, IV, and V and toured the test stand where these engines are hot fire tested!

Representative Brian Babin (R-TX) questions Jared Issacman on proposed cuts to SLS/Orion "The administration is once again proposing transitioning away from SLS/Orion even without alternative operational systems" "I certainly hope you will finish the second mobile launch platform"

It amuses me that people think this "standardized" version of SLS will increase cadence alone, while lacking a second tower and funding to make it possible. Call your reps, this can still be stopped. #ArtemisII

SLS vs. Saturn V, a real time comparison. Saw a comparison yesterday using my video on the left at 50% speed. Here's a proper comparison with both rockets launching at their real speeds. You'll notice SLS is significantly faster off the pad because of the dual massive SRBs!

@fuzzy1477 @ThePrimalDino @LucasHMMixtape SpaceX has gotten to orbit over 600 times in the last 10 years, Starship is not some shot in the dark. Its an evolution of proven success. Except its also an insane radical cutting edge design that has never even been tested similarly before. But now, its finally ready for IOC

@ThePrimalDino I mean if you know that Congress plans to continue SLS/Orion and make sure Jared isn't gonna siphon the funds into a bank account - then I think you should say so I can sleep at night

I’d be 100% on board with SLS centaur if centaur allows Orion to do LLO. Does anyone know if the extra propellant of the centaur is enough to get Orion into LLO after TLI burn completion? Because that would actually be a bit of a game changer and I’d totally see the vision there.

@ThePrimalDino There is still is no plan to continue SLS after A5. Unless you are seriously in contact with half of Congress you need to drop this dream of SLS existing in a few years, let alone what Upper Stage it has.

My thought process is: ICPS is a lot smaller than Centaur, and has only enough fuel to get Orion to TLI. Centaur is way bigger than ICPS, and thus would have leftover performance after TLI (since SLS would put it fully fueled into LEO) Thus the question becomes: is what remains enough to do LLO insertion, where ESM would then do EO Insertion. Anyone done the math on this?

@ThePrimalDino @LucasHMMixtape They will be in the next budget, and there is a mutual understanding between NASA admin, the White House, and Congress that this will happen

My personal opinion here is that NASA needs to save that ICPS for Artemis IV. Who knows how long it will actually take centaur to get configured if that does end up happening. Such a thing could end up significantly delaying our Moon landing. Use the ICPS and LVSA STAs or some kind of spacer, but save the real hardware for the mission that needs to go TLI.

Artemis II has just successfully launched, and humans are now on their way back to the moon! However, how is Artemis III progressing? The SRBS are already in transit, and the rest of the core with the RS-25s is expected to arrive this month! NET 2027 is the launch date!

@LucasHMMixtape How do you plan on getting people to the Moon if you don’t have a TLI stage. Also SLS is done when Congress says it’s done. And I’m going to keep fighting for more flights. The game isn’t over yet

@LucasHMMixtape @ThePrimalDino Jared recently said that if Boeing-(implied) commits to high launch cadences that fit goals and bring SLS price down then they can quite happily continue Using SLS but thats what needs to happen first.
