Development of our Cosmic Hero 2 retro Atari 8-bit game hit a huge milestone. The engine and gameplay mechanics are now complete and the game runs on the real hardware. It took almost 2 years to get to that stage and it feels incredible. #indiedev #retrogame

For painters out there, Rebelle 7 (Pro) is on an insane sale right now. Painting tools like oils, watercolors, ink, etc. are simulated to a pretty astounding level in this software. I love it personally. escapemotions.com

1) My recent, extreme retro art - Universal One IV. In fact, it's a program that runs on 8 bit Atari and displays that image. It's not a regular pixel art because it would be impossible to display such colorful image on 8 bit machines. Read more below. #8bitart #demoscene #8bit

6) I found it to be a very good design/painting challenge to be able to make something meaningful with all these limitations. But it's hard so I enjoy it in small doses only. This image creation was spread over 2 years period, working a few minutes to an hour at a time.

5) Making the image requires some forethought and planning to squeeze out the extra colours in a controlled way. Also, the palette itself is rather limited. It's a bit like doing puzzles :). Not exactly painter friendly workflow!
