G’day from Lake King 👋 Today we’re tissue testing wheat past Z30. Results? Low Cu, Mn, Zn + some K & P issues. We sample the youngest mature leaves to see what’s coming through — because that’s where the real story is. 🌱

Dry, non-wetting soil in WA wheatbelt locks up nutrients, and doesn’t hold water even after heavy rain—see the dry soil falling off this wheat! 🌾 Our liquid foliar fertilisers deliver what crops need. DM me to boost yields! #farming 💧

Canola tissue testing in Yathroo WA! Our trial paddock uses 2L/ha Bio Active 22 + half P rate vs farmer practice treatments side by side. Treated side shows more growth—testing to compare nutrient uptake, especially curious about P levels. DM me to talk fertilisers! 💪🏼#farming

Reminder of Phosphorous responses on high p soils in a dry late start. P is so important in low rainfall acid soils! Canola stubble and fallow always most responsive.

Badgingarra, WA, soil reengineering trial is sown with barley on 11 June - already showing good difference. Todd took these photos this morning (@Toddkenny1999). 1. Clay & spade, 2. Spade only, 3. Control. Thanks Kenny family for hosting the trial. @DPIRDbroadacre @GRDCWest

And we’re here now already. What would you have done differently if you knew how the season would play out from the 1st of May? For me, I would have pushed a bit harder on early N applications, (especially Northern regions). Some canola was better off being sown a week after 1st rain in June (some areas) go figure. Given the circumstances, most have done very well and with a soft finish, will do even better. 🌾💪🏼

Goals: - Grow healthier crops - Improve yield without high inputs - Improve profitability - Improve soil health - Combat soil pH, Al and Na with liquid - Increase soil organic carbon - Improve nutrient use efficiency - Reduce carbon footprint (important for 2030) - Increase speed of crop residue breakdown and nutrient cycling - Grow crops without the use of fungicides and insecticides - Adapt to climate variability

@Oscarthefarmer Sounds like a classic case of lead deficiency. I’d you’d like to have a chat about your crops sometime, drop me an inbox, I’ll pass my number and we can have a chat.

@LukeFreeman_HTA Yep. Pretty sure the easy season has encouraged shallow rooting with constant regular small falls of rain... Plus seems a single roo going down a run is enough to cause toppling... let alone mobs of em!

Lodging... we are getting to full flag, or early booting, and this wheat crop is already lodging in parts. Is this very good or very bad sign? #asktwitter
