I have people ask me all the time how old I am. I’m 69 years old and still enjoying the furry life style. I saw a post this we were a furry said he was turning 20 this week and he was not ready to be old. Old is not an age. You’re as young as you act and feel.

Yep. All dead. Couldn’t make one working unit out of these. Tip: never power one of these up before replacing the SMD electrolytics on the mechanism board — or you’ll fry the motor controller.

@Forgemaster For carburetors I can say that up to 25% they work fine. 30 is ok-ish. For daily drivers, it works. Let it sit and carb corrosion becomes a problem. Cold starts are not as good and neither is your mileage, but it works. Tested on a variety of things. Even on a 1928 Model A.

I also keep hearing rumors about the feds imposing E15 gasoline as the standard in the next few years. They wanted to do this under Bareback Obummer but at the time too many older cars before 2000 were still on the road and were not designed to deal with 15% ethanol. That is not the case anymore so it's likely to slide through and become a mainstay in the next few years. Which means I will have to start hauling a large volume of gas to my home where I can do some simple SCIENCE and remove all the ethanol from my gasoline so my cars can drink the pure good stuff. What will I do with the Ethanol? Dump it. Burn it. Throw it away. No way can my carb cars deal with 15%, nor will I even attempt to make them like it.

@Forgemaster Used a drill to turn the distributor shaft to test it I heard him say "Yep, it's working" as he pulled the cable towards him. I could see the sparks curving and hitting his wrist. I didn't know if turned off the drill, switched the ignition off or laughed. He got pretty angry...

@Forgemaster Ohh... I did something close to that to a friend... His ears turned tomato-red instantly. I was (more) stupid back then. He wanted to help. Gave him the coil wire and said... "hold it here, DON'T MOVE." It was close enough to the chassis that it would not get him shocked... 1/2

You touch it to your tongue and have a friend crank the engine to test for spark.

@PyreauxB @Forgemaster Computers are OK, and cars will run just fine without them. In some cases even get better gas mileage, but that's a story for another time. What bothers me is having a tablet in the dash and electronic throttle. I want the car to do what I ask, not what it thinks it should do.

What’s under the hood of my LeBaron? The gutless 2.2L Chrysler engine of course. It’s a lumpy thing but it gets the job done. The fuel injection system is pretty interesting for this particular year. This car was never equipped with AC. It’s a base car.
