Channel 4’s Dirty Business put the UK water industry under the spotlight — exposing the scale of sewage spills, questioning executive bonuses, and examining whether regulators did enough to hold companies accountable. Sir James Bevan served as Chief Executive of the Environment Agency from 2015 to 2023, during much of that period. Now, close to 3,000 people have signed a petition calling for his knighthood to be removed. Locally we’re seen how SEND pressures have been exacerbated by barriers to children accessing NHS services. Today I met with the Health minister in Westminster to underline the need for change. Lots to do, but it’s clear SEND reform is a real priority for our Government.
