Some dry slots are rotating in at times, but otherwise many of us continue to see a good bit of snow. As it gets colder, snow-to-liquid ratios will continue to increase with grains transitioning to fluffier flakes (dendrites). Plenty to come!

Looking like a more robust winter storm with wider spreading snow impacts. For us locally, the upper level low and the surface Low will work in tandem to wrap up to 4" to Columbia and around 0.5"-1" (or possibly a little higher) as far down as Charleston, SC. Could see a small dusting as far as Savannah. With any additional NW flow energy aloft, we could see an additional 1 inch or so if allowed. Right now the thinking is on the lighter end, but that could change next day or so. Probabilistic/deterministic maps are shown below using the NWS maps, EURO and others...along with the latest GFS/EURO ensembles showing more and more agreement. I gotta say, the EURO and NAM are already trending on higher amounts, but we have to be cautious about buying in to these models too early. Might start as intermittent cold rain Sat AM to midday, then slowly change over to snow in the afternoon. Might see a little sleet/graupel mixes before it fully converts. More to come - just know that the chance for snow here Sat into Sat night and early Sunday AM are pretty high! #chswx
