This has to be the most solid theory yet. Chainsaws were originally invented as a tool to aid in childbirth, which explains the umbilical-cord-like tail and why his power is to 'un-birth' concepts from reality. He isn't the fear of saws; he's the Birth Devil representing the pain and terror of being brought into existence

The Birth Devil. Poochita has been a motherly figure to Denji the entire manga, protecting him from danger. The ending is Poochita learning she needs to let Denji go much like how all mothers have to do at somepoint in their childs life so she births a new world where Denji would not be hunted because of her. But she's still inside Denji as we saw in the part of the ending where he gets called Chainsaw Man

Chainsaw Man I knew could have had potential but squandered it early because the author got bored with his own conceit (multiple times) — he’s much better with short stories than long works— everyone crumbles with their ambitious long shonen series’ when confronted with the ongoing truth of One Piece.
