Solid change. I still think theoretically being able to self-res 5+ times in a single engagement is silly. Self res should take up a dedicated slot in inventory and when used is made into Uncharged Self Res that needs like 2 minutes to recharge. Getting a team wipe or picking up a fresh one would also fully charge it instantly.

We’ve seen a lot of feedback that players’ ability to quickly revive after being downed during a fight is causing frustrations. When taking a look we felt that both the total time and contribution of the Revive Speed were too fast for the pace of tactical play we expect from Marathon. In Update 1.0.9, we’re increasing the time it takes for a DBNO runner to self-revive with a Self-Revive kit and rebalancing how much benefit the Revive Speed stat grants you: ➡️ When the Revive Speed stat is at 0: 12s → 16s ➡️ When the Revive Speed stat is at 100: 7s → 12s Thanks for the feedback, and keep it coming! We'll continue to monitor conversations around this.

Haven’t played ranked regularly, but the last couple days (on console only, in particular) have been riddled with Teamers. Very frustrating and goes against the basic pillar of competitive integrity in a ranked experience. Really hope this gets addressed at least for Season 2 (sad I will miss that Bully skin, looks so good 😩). Y’all need to make an official stance against Teaming in Ranked (though I would personally extend it across the board outside of Rooks, as that is way harder to coordinate outside of game, and Rooks are by design Griefers lol). Ranked is the only mode for players who enjoy competitive experiences or who want a more fair playing field to gauge their skill-level and measurably improve. It also keeps people grinding who want to earn the more prestigious Weapon Styles. If it functionally plays no differently than casual lobbies then it isn’t competitive. Just like Hard Cheats, this will absolutely drive people (who would GRIND) out of the game and is more easily identifiable by the people running into these teams to record and report, unlike some other kinds of cheating that aren’t always definitive. If I’m not mistaken, even games with 0 stakes like Fortnite and PubG treat it as cheating.

Season 1 of Ranked is winding down and we have something special planned for the final week. Ranked Cryo Archive will premiere on May 24 (10 AM PT) and run until May 28 (10 AM PT). It's time to finally equip the best gear you have been saving all season and venture into the derelict ship before the Season ends. Requirements to enter Ranked Cryo ➡️Runner Level 25 ➡️3,000 loadout requirement (low stakes) ➡️10,000 loadout requirement (high stakes) Ranked Cryo will be the final time Season 1 of Ranked will be available. If you are still wanting to earn a title or one of the cosmetic rewards, you have until 10AM PT on May 28 to hit the Rank required. Make sure you claim any Ranked reward packages from your Codex before the end of the season as they will not carry over. We will be sharing more details on the Season reset and what is coming in Season 2 in the next few weeks. Good luck in the Marathon ship!

Good start but y'all should also draw some lines in the sand for other issues like the obvious inorganic Teaming. Since it's essentially impossible to prove unless they admit it or post lfg's for it, it should just not be allowed in Ranked. Goes against the very core of having a 'competitive' mode.

Over the weekend, a player posted a video of them taking advantage of a map issue and going out of bounds to gain access into the Compiler room to ambush a team after they finished completing the encounter. First off, we will have this issue fixed before Cryo Archive becomes available again. In the past, we have not taken action against players going out of bounds, but due to this case heavily affecting other players negatively, we'll be reviewing our policies and sharing more details soon. While we don't want to punish players for bugs that they run into by accident, we will communicate more clearly the line that players should not cross when it comes to using these sorts of bugs that could be griefing others. We will be reaching out to the affected players to grant them compensation for having their successful run interrupted by this issue.

In keeping with this spirit I think purchase limits need to be retired as the season progresses. Month 2 should remove limits on purchasing Green Shields/Weapons/Mods Month 3 should remove limits on Blues. The fact that someone with 10M credits at the end of the season could theoretically not be able to purchase a blue or green shield/weapon because they lost a lot is silly lol.

Details below: - As of 3PM PT Sponsored - Perimeter will become available. - Sponsored Perimeter will require you to have a free (green/enhanced tier) sponsored kit equipped to queue. - Sponsored Perimeter will only support crew matching, or pre-made crew queueing. To commemorate this experiment we will also be upping the floor on sponsored kits. Green sponsored kits will now be free and grey tier sponsored kits will be retired until the end of season. Thanks to everyone who has been participating in the Sponsored Dire Marsh experiment, we've learned a lot from your feedback and from observing you. I’m think any competitive-minded person is with you lol. Proposition: 8 second timer regardless of stats. There is a designated self res slot which only allows 1 to be carried, after it is used it becomes ‘depleted’ and must be recharged (maybe time, hits on targets, kills etc).

Personal Answer: It would probably be in Marathon's best interest to get more active players. Playing nothing but sponsored kit lobbies certainly isn't a way I'd want to play 24/7 (would much rather kill kitted teams & take their gear), but it's lookin like a solid way to get more casuals to give it a go - as they know they'll be on even footing, and its low-stakes PvP. I had a Mod play Marathon for the first time yesterday, and she seemed a little nervous about jumping in. But Sponsored Marsh was a great starting ground - kinda like the Bunny Hill for beginner skiers. A place for players to figure things out & build their confidence a bit more before raising the stakes by jumping into other maps/gametypes.

Skill-Based Hit Reg lol Jokes aside, Bungie loves having a ton of systems that are effectively just that. Got flinched while OFF target? Puts you on target. Got flinched while ON target? Throws you off target. Trying to do anything to throw off the insane aim assist stickiness like sliding or jumping while returning fire? Massively expanded accuracy cones and drop in stickiness (which would be like your mouse suddenly having its dpi raised when you jump). No one would accept that on mnk. Able to pull the trigger at the max rof and still aim accurately? Well we’ll let bloom decide where those rounds land lol. If you didn’t want the weapon to have that ttk then why not just reduce the rof? They managed to actually fit RNG even into the skill-gap. “Bungie gunplay feels so good.” isn’t just a mass appeal to the feel of aim assist. Winning many fights that you shouldn’t have is a large part of the sentiment that gets glossed over because when rng is involved the reason for the outcome gets muddied, so most people just have to take it at face value. Equality of Outcome in your games. This is the Bungie way since Reach DMR Bloom was implemented and rejected by the people.

I still have complaints about many enemy attack animations, but on the default (after recent patch) or lower difficulties I think the parry window is fair enough now that they can be learned and mastered. I think with some extra time, feedback, and polish this could go from a good to great experience. Still absolutely worth picking up right now imo if you enjoy mv's and don't mind parrying. Good job, team! @SolateriaGame Ps. Despaired Chasa's 2nd phase was giving me Nameless Puppet flashbacks from Lies of P and is absolute peak! 👏
