@Grisanti915 Blown dead doesn’t matter on an overturned backwards pass so long as there is a clear recovery by one team. They changed that rule in like 08 or something. Can’t be advanced further but it was recovered past the goal line so try is good.

@sharonw50676227 @SleeperSeahawks Even if it was blown as long as it is picked up during continuous action with clear recover and ruled a backwards pass on review the ball can go to the team that picked it up. No advancement but recovered past the goal line = successful conversion.

@redpillb0t I mean it violates a lot of states laws that require you ID yourself to a police officer as the operator of a vehicle during a traffic stop and will likely escalate a potentially minor traffic stop but sure if you want to be hauled off to jail then go for it.

@vilujidiot Should solidify the return game which he proved to be a major impact(likely saved the team in at least 3 games) Also with Horton’s status unknown(at least publicly beyond he won’t participate in spring) it makes sense to lock down Shaheed.

@Jake_B30 Repercussions for retiring? Why? That’s a horrible take. Players should be allowed to leave just like anyone else can retire from their jobs. The repercussion is he won’t get the rest of his salary but if he wants to or feels it necessary to stop football then good for him.

@texasmadegeek @ProFootballTalk Since it was ruled backwards as a result of a review it couldn’t be advanced further had he like recovered it short and run it in but they get it at point of recovery and since he recovered it past the goal line it made the try successful.

@texasmadegeek @ProFootballTalk Backwards pass fumbles aren’t treated the same as forward fumbles. They can always be recovered by any player on either team regardless of down or conversion try or time on the game clock.

@KubiakSP While not a 2pt try the same type of scenario happened just a few weeks later in the AFC champ game. Stidham pass ruled incomplete. Pats ran it back anyways. Reviewed and overturned to backwards but since they had blown whistle they couldn't allow the TD.

@mccaffreyformvp It was ruled backwards and since charbonnet had a clear recovery and the ball was already over the goal line it was a successful try. Had he grabbed it short then it would've been a recovery but failed conversion since you cant advance the ball on a reviewed backwards pass.

@mccaffreyformvp Backwards pass = live football. Even if it ultimately goes forward as long as it was backwards out of the QBs hands its a fumble. If a pass was backwards can be reviewed and ball given to the team that recovered the loose ball as long as was a clear recovery but no advancement.

@JoshLopezBoii They would've gotten the ball at the spot of recovery(exactly as Seattle did). It was recovered over the plain of the goal line so successful try. Refer to AFC champ and the stidham backwards pass upon review that gave pats the ball but not the TD(that they did run back)

@BenSatterthwai2 It already can't be advanced if ruled a backward pass on review. Its why the Pats defense lost the TD in the AFC champ game was it could be recovered at the spot it was picked up but not advanced. Recovery of the live ball was already over the goal line = successful conversion

@DavidGiglioCA They can only get two challenges wrong per game. An extra a couple minutes for crucial calls won’t hurt anything. A missed call even early in the AB can completely change the batter and pitchers approaches for the future pitches.

@KULDKULDKULD @shannondrayer Minor league contract where he will be a cheap veteran at backup catcher if he shows results in spring training. There is no salary cap in baseball and he was good with the pitching staff even if the offensive output wasn’t ideal. Likely also helped in ways not seen by fans

@ryantheramsfan @KoleMusgrove23 Same thing happened in the afc championship game and it led to a patriots fumble recovery after a stidham pass was ruled incomplete and then was overturned to backwards pass upon review. Pats lost the td return but got the ball.

@ryantheramsfan @KoleMusgrove23 Been a rule since 2009 that if an incomplete pass was overturned to a backwards pass it could be considered a fumble even after the whistle as long as there was a clear recovery. It can’t be advanced but it can absolutely be a fumble still.
