Over the past years, IFC has become geometrically more simple and explicit. IfcOpenShell, sitting on a heavy geometry kernel, was late to adapt to that. But here we are now, conversion time is decimated for explicit ReferenceView models. Read on below.

For a large part maybe IfcOpenShell is pedestrian. Reading and writing files in ancient standards isn't that sexy But has also brought ML on building models, 2D drawing generation, continuous integration on designs, transactional APIs, voxel-based compliance checking, ...
