Every British Columbian deserves the opportunity to succeed. That’s why we’re making the largest investment in trades training. Providing $241 million over three years, we’re going to train the next generation of skilled tradespeople in BC to get big things done.

Today, your new government took another major step to build a stronger, more sovereign, and globally competitive Canada: referring the next set of projects to the Major Projects Office.   These include projects in LNG, electricity, renewable energy, and critical minerals.   I am in Timmins today at Crawford Nickel, one of the projects being referred — a generational mining project that will put Canada among the world’s top nickel producers, with near net-zero emissions and strong Indigenous partnerships.   This is how we become masters in our own home. It is how we not only compete, but win. It is how we build Canada Strong.

3,000 new tech jobs — that’s the kind of opportunity HCL is creating in Mississauga, Moncton, Edmonton, and Calgary, as it looks ahead to #Budget2025 and the new incentives we’re introducing to attract more investment and industry to Canada Great to be in New Delhi for forward-looking conversations with leaders like HCL, a global leader in IT services. Together, we’re strengthening trade and investment ties to open doors and deliver results for Canadians.

It was great to join the Ukrainian Canadian community for the 28th Triennial Congress. Ontario will always stand with Ukraine in its fight for freedom as well as the nearly 350,000 Ukrainian Canadians who strengthen our province.

Two-thirds of Canada’s economy is driven by international trade — and we’re doubling down. Through #Budget2025, we’re making generational investments to build the strongest economy in the G7 and empower young Canadian entrepreneurs to export, scale, and create good jobs — starting right here in Westminster–Burnaby–Maillardville. Here’s how we’re helping Canadian businesses go global: ➡️ SME Export Readiness Program: $46.5M to help small and medium-sized firms get the skills and tools they need to enter new international markets. ➡️ Revitalized CanExport: $68.5M to help entrepreneurs, innovators and industry associations expand into priority global markets and reach new customers. ➡️ Enhanced Export Financing (EDC): Expanding export financing by $25B by 2030 — accelerating growth in sectors that power Canada’s future economy. Canada wins when Canadian businesses win globally. #cdnpoli #Budget2025
