@greg_ip @rhodium_group Many questions here. How long will workers continue at slave level wages? How many top down 5 year plans full of mistakes can the Chinese Economy absorb? WSJ articles on Windmills with little analysis on the giant waste of this policy. So on.

China dominates a growing number of industries and chokepoints, a @rhodium_group report shows. Its industrial policy is costly, wasteful and ultimately unsustainable, but China can stay irrational longer than foreign competitors can stay solvent. wsj.com/world/china/be…

@PeterDClack Another mistake for China. High speed trains to nowhere, massive rotting Cities with no people, Dams filling with silt, mandatory one Child policy, Mao farm policy creating massive starvation deaths, I thought the Chinese Windmills was another scam on the West. Not.

A world glut of wind turbines has soared to 1.3 million and is approaching 1.5 million. Production has accelerated. Annual installation rates surged by 40% in 2025 alone. This raises questions about whether this colossal spending spree has created the world's first perpetual waste machine. China leads this with 691,750 turbines - or roughly 77% of the total - followed by the United States 160,881, Germany 77,285, India 54,500 and Brazil 35,886. But it's looming as a human train wreck on a global scale. What's the future for the disposal of dead and dying skeletons of steel, plastics, concrete and gearing mechanisms. Who will dispose of huge volumes of gearing oils. This includes SF6 (sulfur hexafluoride), a gas 23,500 times more potent than CO2 used in switchgear. It remains in the atmosphere for more than 3,000 years - a permanent chemical signature of a 'temporary' energy solution. Europe has officially implemented a self-imposed landfill ban on blades, as of January 1, 2026. Germany and the Netherlands have had bans for years. This has left the industry scrambling to find alternative graveyards for millions of tons of waste. Turbine graveyards are becoming commonplace eyesores. But nobody wants them anymore. Tens of thousands of industrial scale concrete monoliths weighing up to 1,000 tonnes each are being abandoned where they lie. The triple blades are made of 'indestructible' composites of fibreglass and resin, designed to withstand the elements, which makes them a nightmare to dispose of. The sheer acreage required for 1.5 million turbines - and rising - is staggering, transforming formerly pretty coastal and mountain landscapes and disrupting migratory paths for birds and bats on a planetary scale. The droning of 'free' wind and sunlight is collapsing as reality bites. Renewable energy is incompatible with existing electricity grids, and the $21 trillion price tag to overhaul them isn't just a financial hurdle. Every dollar spent means more mining and more carbon-intensive reinforced concrete. It's not just building a second power grid; it's commissioning a planetary-scale geological layer of industrial debris. The coastlines of the UK and Denmark paint a bleak picture. One key study (Professor Gordon Hughes, University of Edinburgh 2012 and 2020), reveals that many turbines never reach the officially designated 25 years life cycle. They lose economic viability and reach an early mechanical efficiency drop-off. Most are battered by ceaseless wind erosion and exposure to storms, cutting production life cycles to between 10 and 15 years. Wind turbines have a high-maintenance replacement cycle and this recreates fresh mountains of waste every 15 years. Suitable disposal sites are fast disappearing. The industry is currently 'repowering' or replacing ageing turbines with new ones at a rate that could increase capacity by three to four times. But it also doubles the waste on the same site. Abandoned concrete bases, some the weight of an entire naval destroyer, already litter the subsoil. The question isn't whether we can build 1.5 million turbines—it’s how we manage the 1.5 million industrial fossils that will remain in the earth forever. It’s a planetary legacy no-one expected.

Nafisa Fai, a Democrat-endorsed Somali Commissioner for Washington County, Oregon, says she wants to be the "defense mechanism" against ICE by pushing sanctuary policies that protect criminal illegal aliens. She also says she won't comply with Trump's "lawless" Executive Orders banning DEI and radical gender ideology.

@jsolomonReports No different than all the other car companies just Honda willing to take to hit all one whack, as contrasted to the bullshit accounting at Ford, GM Stellantis and I think Volkswagen.. Toyota doesn’t have any right downs as they weren’t total fuck ups, listening to Biden.

@SquawkCNBC @JoeSquawk Joe, the Chinese model is not complicated. It is based on the equivalent of slave labor, and degradation of the environment. Fortunately, for the world number births is declining from the number of future slaves is limited.

This is the California nonprofit scam The "nonprofit" San Diego Humane Society is sitting on over $100 million dollars Total annual revenue: $72.9 million Salaries and compensation: $45.3 million The CEO makes $40,000+ per month It’s gets $10 million from taxpayers every year So to recap, they take in $73 million, and spend $45 million of it on salaries instead of expanding services like spay, neuter, rescue and adoption helping animals….. Nonprofits are a scam. It’s money laundering and fraud. Abolish nonprofits

@HowardKurtz Makary resignation is widely reported. Including the WSJ, which hemmed around the story. You have to keep too big Pharma’s interests, then don’t step on the toes of the nanny state. Again, Washington proves itself a cesspool of special interests. Common sense be damned.

This is just crazy This is what it costs to full up a basic car at one of the cheapest gas stations in Los Angeles County (A Walmart) And the crazy thing is, this wasn’t even fully empty, it could have taken 2 more gallons in most basic cars Now imagine the price at the average gas station cost per gallon in LA, which is $6.23 per gallon The cost would be over $100…. For a basic car

@PeterDClack Way too complicated. If car makers make car buyers want to buy at a price are willing to pay. The inventory is almost 0. In fact, car buyers will pay a premium or car they wanna buy. Don’t make it too hard to understand.

The world is facing a massive glut of unsold vehicles. This inventory mountain recently peaked at a 92-day supply - the highest levels seen since the 2008 recession - triggering a frantic market reset that is still playing out today. It’s a case of 'let the buyer beware'. That shiny 'new' car on the showroom floor might be a lot older than it looks. A significant volume of 2024 and 2025 models are still unsold, with select SUVs seeing 80% of their stock sitting idle a full year after delivery. To hide the overflow, manufacturers have turned to massive, anonymous storage lots to keep the surplus out of public view. While 2025 saw a massive buildup of unsold EVs, the first quarter of 2026 has triggered a faux 'market reset'. After supply outstripped demand by 350% last year, inventory hit a three-year low. Market share in the US has cooled from a 12% peak to roughly 6%. In a market this size, that is a massive retreat. Meanwhile, demand for hybrids like the Toyota Camry and RAV4 has caused inventory to triple, yet they still fly off lots faster than pure EVs, averaging a lean 62-day supply. China remains the undisputed world leader. Electric cars captured over half of its annual sales for the first time in 2025. In the US and Europe, however, fluctuating subsidies and high price points have created embarrassing 'inventory pileup' sitting in the sunshine as consumers balk at the premium cost of EVs compared with traditional engines. In regions like Australia, pure petrol-and-diesel vehicles have dropped to roughly 52.5% of sales. Globally, while 50% of buyers still intend to buy internal combustion engine vehicles in the next two years, that core is hollowing out as the mass market migrates to a hybrid middle ground. The divide between manufacturers is widening too. Stellantis (Jeep and Ram) is struggling with a nearly five-month oversupply of unsold units. Meanwhile, Asian automakers like Toyota are maintaining lean, disciplined inventory levels. The landscape is thinning out. Over 25 models, including the Ford Escape, Chevrolet Malibu and Kia Soul, are being discontinued this year. These lame duck models are contributing to the leftover stock as the industry aggressively pivots toward a hybrid-first reality.

If you really want to help the homeless, you oughta voluntarily donate your own income instead of spending other people’s money. Compassion isn’t forcibly taking money from the people who earned it and giving it to others who didn’t. Create your own wealth by building something. Wealth isn’t something that has a fixed value and is “hoarded” with need of redistribution. It is created.

Jessica Holloway, 34, from Tampa, Florida showed up to her daughter’s U-8 girls soccer game yesterday morning at Carrollwood Recreation Park. She was wearing a “WINE MOM ERA” tank top… and decided it was the perfect time to set up a folding table and an Igloo cooler on the sidelines. Then she started selling homemade wine in mason jars to the other parents. Her menu? “Carrollwood Red” — $8 a jar “Soccer Mom Sangria” — $10 a jar “Divorce Rosé” — $12 a jar (yes, really) She got detained on the spot. Now she’s facing charges for unlicensed alcohol sales and operating an illegal vendor stand on public youth athletic property. At a children’s soccer game. Let that sink in. So are you? Team “It’s just harmless side-hustle mom energy” or Team “This is completely unhinged and inexcusable at a kids event”?
