It’s time to settle the ultimate debate: what is the greatest Zelda game of all time? Is it a fully remade Ocarina of Time or is that going to be uncslop to the Zoomies? Is it Breath of the Wild? Have all the uncs actually played it? It’s very very good. What’s the verdict?

@Lyte_House @AutismCapital A telephone in the world of Zelda doesn't break the game's immersion... now if a core game mechanic in Zelda meant that you fused the corded phone to the end of your sword to create a bizarre long ranged weapon that flings the phone across the room, that would break my immersion.

@ooeykablooey @AutismCapital Now you're just making stuff up. Previous Zelda games have had robots and trains and other technology. The fusion of technology and fantasy is a common Japanese cultural trait. Look at any JRPG. Link's Awakening has Link using a TELEPHONE for f*ck sake.

@Lyte_House @AutismCapital It's more important to me (than it is to you) that a game's mechanics don't break the immersion of the story, world, environment, theme. What if in Mario, Mario gets an uzi that can shoot Koopas... Someoone that is purely mechanic focused would say that's great.

@ooeykablooey @AutismCapital How is TotK "procedurally generated"? I already said BotW and TotK are the best Zelda games. They're certainly closer in concept to the spirit of the original NES game than any other title in the series. If you want to name a better adventure game than BotW/TotK, then go for it

@Lyte_House @AutismCapital I don't think TOTK is shitty - it's just feels more like a sandbox / building simulator game with procedurally generated worlds, with Zelda's name slapped on it rather than a true Zelda game at its core. Breath of the Wild was far more cohesive and truer to the Zelda theme.
