@LeilaniDowding There is no cease fire Iran even deny talking to the US he's just stopped short of destroying energy infrastructure. I think its possible he threw that out see what happens as Iran would lose oil revenues although would hit the Wests costs!

@BrianAtlas Not a looks match scores about right she might even be a 4! Yes men do date below their own looks but guys with options i think its less likely or its a much closer match say he's an 8 shes a 6/7. If he's getting hit on by 7/8s its hard not to notice and not have his head turned

GENUINE question: do you think this is a looks-match? And what do you rate them? He's at least 2-3 points above her IMO. He is 7.5-8. She is a 5.

@NiohBerg No it will be 100% worse at least NK keep to themselves mostly, Iran will be much worse openly supplying other entities that want the destruction of Israel & the West! With the bomb much less likely they would get confronted no matter what they do!

If the regime somehow survives all of this, they will barrel towards a nuclear bomb by every single means necessary. You either defeat them now or prepare for Middle Eastern North Korea. Surely everyone involved in the war understands this.

@FinanceTiger We might never know but how close had been Iran to a nuke the pieces are on the board missile tech, nuclear enrichment past civilian need in fortified bunkers. Would Iran be willing to wipe out Israel not sure i would be willing to risk it.

@Steven_Swinford 3wks of a US war and already at talk of a bail out for people just shows how vulnerable the UK is! We can't just bail people out at the first sign of trouble which effectively means more debt & borrowing that will need to be paid back it can't continue!

The Times weekend read: * Ministers increasingly alarmed at economic fallout from Iran war. Gas and electricity poised to rise by £300; filling up a tank of diesel could hit £100 by Easter; 500+ mortgage deals pulled off market in space of a week; traders pricing in as many as three interest rate hikes this year * Starmer to convene Cobra meeting on economic impact of Iran war early next week. Andrew Bailey, governor of Bank of England, will attend * Starmer and Reeves favour a targeted bailout on energy bills for poorest households. Ministers are concerned this will not be enough. Talk about rethinking fiscal rules * YouGov polling suggests 41% of voters think support should be targeted, while 35% favour a universal approach * Ministers reviewing plans for potential petrol rationing should effective blockade of Strait of Hormuz remain. Official figures suggest UK has less than a month's worth of petrol in reserve. Officials say it is a precautionary measure * Will Rayner go over the top and challenge Starmer outright? The usual narrative is that she will only enter contest once it is underway, particularly if Wes Streeting is in the running * But some of her allies are more bullish and suggest she may have no choice but to move against Starmer if the results in May are as bad as expected * Rayner has made £100,000+ from speaking engagements to City investors, management consultants and estate agents and her book deal. Allies think the HMRC investigation will wrap up soon & she an now afford any potential fine * Gallows humour all round at Labour donor Gary Lubner's party at a private members' club in Covent Garden on Tuesday, attended by half the Cabinet * Ed Miliband joked that no matter how bad things got nothing could be as 'tense and difficult' as working for Gordon Brown * Lucy Powell compared Labour's travails to Manchester City, who that night were taking on Real Madrid in an attempt to overturn a 3-0 deficit. Like City, she said, Labour would come back fighting. They ended up losing 5-1 on aggregate * Fighting talk from Vidhya Alakeson, interim chief of staff in No 10, who said Downing Street was now best run it had ever been pro.x.com/i/decks/176530…

⚠️The Iranian regime just fired a long-range ballistic missile at Diego Garcia, and here’s why that matters. It means Iran’s missile industry was far more developed than widely believed. @CSIS put Iran’s maximum range at 2,000km. @Israel_Alma_org said 3,000km. But this was nearly 4,000km away, potentially putting London in range. It’s a reminder that intelligence is far from perfect, and you never know *exactly* what the enemy’s capabilities are. And that’s critical for what it means for a threat to be “imminent”. The idea that the world could safely wait till Iran was one minute away from a nuclear warhead is insane. Secret weapons programs are by definition secret. If an enemy regime is threatening you with death, you would have to be insufferably arrogant (like many foreign diplomats, commentators, and politicians) to believe you know what it’s capable of or when the “last minute” is to thwart it. You have to factor in a margin of error, or margin of humility. When the regime cries “Death to Israel, Death to America,” it’s suicidal to risk waking up one day and finding it’s much further along than you thought. Beware.

@matthewdmarsden No one truly knows unless you on the inside but it's clear all the pieces are on the board missile tech being developed, enriched nuclear fuel in deep underground bunkers at levels far exceeding civilian use & an ideology more willing to use it!

Exclusive from @oliver_wright Ministers are examining plans to ration petrol and diesel supplies at the pump if the conflict in the Middle East continues to restrict the supply of oil to the UK. Government figures show that the country has less than 900,000 tonnes of petrol in storage - 10 per cent less than a year ago and about 26 days’ supply at normal demand levels Although ministers insist in private that the country currently has adequate reserves to avoid rationing, senior government sources admit that “demand constraint measures” could become necessary if significant disruption to oil supply continues Ministers already have emergency powers under the Energy Act which they can use to control supply and demand of petrol products during severe disruptions. These were last used in 2000 when hauliers blockaded fuel depots to protest at rising prices, leading to nationwide petrol shortages. The plans would allow the government to cap the amount of fuel motorists can buy at any one time and designate certain petrol stations as hubs that would only serve emergency and critical service vehicles. Diesel sales could be restricted to commercial vehicles involved in the delivery of key supply chains, such as food and health One source said that although the need to implement the plans were “some way off” there was growing concern that disruption to supplies could last longer than had previously been expected. Industry experts believe that even if the Strait of Hormuz were to reopen tomorrow it could take up to six months for normal supplies to resume. thetimes.com/article/832f7c…

Never buying Cadbury's @CadburyUK chocolate again. Opened a box of milk tray and my first experience of the new manufacturing with palm oil. Loved it all my life, but not now. Horrible taste and texture. oleaginous. 🤢
