Now that the Windham-Campbell Prizes have been announced I can talk about my failure to make the grade back in February, when I was told I had won a prize for fiction. Initially thrilled, then learned the prize was contingent on forms of promotion I was simply unable to provide.

@msgalinal @nazzobetweeting @slurvival the glottal stop isn't really "saying things with a d sound," its more like an unvoiced or implied t-sound. For example, the way you'd say the t in "stop" is not the same as "button"

@janedazey like... this is not a format that promises beloved (or any) characters will stick around. the characters tend to serve the story, rather than the other way around. there are certainly issues with this but it is funny to pretend otherwise and then get disappointed

@discordspies i’ve never had a legitimately dangerous experience on public transit. a handful of sketchy/uncomfortable ones sure, but that’s in 10+ years of taking the train by myself in a major city, so it’s really not notable.

as a trans woman thats been on hormones and engaging with trans healthcare for almost 8 years, the only medical procedure ive ever regretted and felt like i wasnt given informed consent was getting a wire cemented to my teeth after i got my braces off as a teenager
