When I ran for mayor of Houston, I spent $13 million of my own money trying to get elected. The voters spoke. I got my ass kicked. Houston is a Democrat city. The money I spent was all my own. So both California and Texas did it legally according to their Constitutions, which is why both were upheld when they were appealed.
