Literally every negative response I seeing to this is people pointing to restaurant prices and then getting mad. The point is that if you're barely earning more than the national average you shouldn't be eating at a restaurant every day. Make a sandwich and bring it in a bag.

@adammocklerr I know kids who had to physically practice going to order at McDonalds with their parents before going off to college. Interacting with people was so foreign, that they had to script out their practice runs to order a fucking #1 in a drive-thru.

Job interviews used to require going in person with the risk of rejection, and now job resumes are submitted with a single click online. Young people, already demoralized by a tough job market, feel even more isolated when they submit endless resume’s to "ghost jobs" (online postings left open with no real intent to hire). Then enter dating. Out of young men 18-25, almost HALF have never approached and asked out a woman in person. For millennials and Gen-Z, dating apps are the norm. DoorDash is wonderfully convenient and yet again, removes all friction from even getting food. Just leave it at the door. The business model of every social media app is to quite literally keep you on the screen for as long as possible via retention tricks. Algorithmic radicalization is replacing social interaction pretty quickly. It’s really no wonder drinking and sex are down while nihilism is up. The chart below is like one stroke in a huge painting once you realize that the entire social apparatus through which we interacted with each other has been uprooted and replaced with a digital world of endless stimulation.
