Parties that want a fair voting system should support a single set of candidates, to get a parliamentary majority & change the voting system to STV

It’s not just that financial support is inadequate People with disabilities that make it difficult for them to make decisions, think clearly, & care for themselves need either a support network of friends/family or help from the state Help is not forthcoming in the UK I suspect the situation is just as bad in Canada & the US

Thatcher was elected on a promise to “cut taxes by eliminating waste, not by cutting services“ She slashed Mental Health Services closing down all the mental asylums This caused a 20%-25% increase in the death rate among the severely mentally ill

So 1 in 8 Brits are claiming UC. Who are people blaming? Not the employers who don’t pay liveable wages. No not them it’s our fault for not getting a good enough job. Right, so who’s gonna do our jobs now? You know the simple answer is pay everyone a liveable fucking wage. Get me

@clairebubblepop Your not the first person or will be the last person who has lost a partner, yes you grieve, I was in that situation but I never took the easy option, I worked around my children, my oldest who also was 15 at the time helped out with looking after her younger siblings,

You’re only ever one tragedy from being on benefits. For me I had a partner, a beautiful family, then he got sick & died. I had 4 kids; they were 15yrs, 6yrs, 5yrs & 3yrs old. We were grieving, I couldn’t afford childcare, didn’t have a family to help me. It destroyed us. All /1

@clairebubblepop You’re not the problem Claire. When people complain about the benefit system they are not complaining about people who genuinely need it. They are complaining about people who take advantage. It’s important to realise there are many , many people in that camp.

@clairebubblepop That is what benefits are supposed to be for. They’re a safety net. No one begrudges their temporary use in this way. Benefits shouldn’t, however, be used to fund people’s lifestyle choices they can’t otherwise afford. Nor should they be used long term unless unable to work.

@clairebubblepop @Nouz12345 I worked until my health stopped me. Never in a million years did I think I would end up on benefits. I’m now disabled and yet again had to fight for what I was legally entitled. Yet we are demonised. Stay strong. You’ve got this

The good news is, it looks like the ablest Labour Party has been replaced by the Green Party as the main party of the left I wish the party was taking a stronger stand on behalf of the disabled but at least unlike, Labour & the right-wing parties, the Green Party isn’t hostile to the disabled

Neil Duncan-Jordan has created a way of opposing auto-disqualification of under 22s from receiving incapacity benefits (LCW/LCWRA) Please ask your MP to sign 👇 These young people are vulnerable & deserve the same support & compassion as people with health conditions of any age

SHE SAVED PATIENTS. PRIORY FIRED HER. NOW SHE NEEDS US. Dagmara Hrabal walked onto an eating disorders ward at Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal and saw something that should never happen in any hospital. Vulnerable patients. Physically restrained. Force-fed through tubes. At rates far above clinical guidelines. Far above what any comparable unit was recording. She put it in writing. Formally. Because that is what you are supposed to do. An investigation followed. The ward was restructured. The consultant left. And then they fired her. This is the Priory Group. The UK's largest private mental health provider. A company that takes over £2 billion a year from taxpayers. A company with criminal convictions for patient deaths. A company where three young women died within eight weeks of each other at this exact hospital in 2022. A company whose chief executive publicly disputed the CQC's findings after it rated Cheadle Royal inadequate. That is who Dagmara blew the whistle on. That is who fired her for doing it. She is now fighting them at Employment Tribunal. The final hearing is July 2026. She needs £10,000 by 15 June to cover case preparation and secure her barrister. I support every whistleblower who finds the courage to speak up. They are often the only source of truth we have. When institutions close ranks, when managers protect reputations over patients, when the official version of events bears no resemblance to what actually happened inside those walls, it is the person willing to put their name on a complaint who stands between the public and the cover-up. Dagmara is one of those people. She deserves to be heard. We have to help her get there. Share this. Donate if you can. The link is in the comments. Because if we let them silence her, we are sending the same message Priory already sent. Stay quiet or lose everything.

I tweeted about digital exclusion and how older people (and people with brain injuries & disabilities) are locked out of healthcare services because of multiple complicated apps. This is one of the demands on my mum’s GP app. She has no idea how to film & upload her face.

Lord Robertson shouldn’t get a pension he should get a long jail sentence He did nothing to try & reduce fraud & corruption on MOD contracts while he was Defence Secretary His own deputy lied to Parliament to cover up corruption The MOD itself says that “Contracts awarded to contractors with poor performance record“ is a “Fraud Indicator” Between 1975 & 1996 the Frimley site of Marconi were given 4 separate contracts for THE SAME WORK! Every time they failed they were paid & given a new contract for even more money! The attachments show Labour Defence Minister John Gilbert lying to Parliament in 1997 to pretend that the 1975 contract wasn’t a full development contract However in this front-page article in The Independent it was stated that “full-scale development started in 1980” Any competent independent investigation would show that Gilbert was lying
