Hello from Germany – where it’s mainly the public sector that’s booming. In Q3, govt consumption rose by 0.8% QoQ, while private consumption fell by 0.3%. Corporate investment edged up 0.3%, after dropping 1.1% in Q2. Since 2000, govt spending has increased by >60%, whereas capital investment has grown by only 15%. As a result, Germany’s GDP has risen by just over 30%.
