His body is at the mortuary and the family have been told that whenever they want to see it, they will be allowed to. However its a case of suspected murder, so autopsy is compulsory and the family also agreed to this. Thank you

Remember Mene, the boy executed in public in Delta by a Nigerian SARS police officer few days ago? The police say they can’t find his body for his family to bury. Where is Oghenemine Ogidi’s body? @PoliceNG #EndSARS #JusticeForMene

According to reports by connectibadan, Tension erupted in Moniya axis after a 35-year-old okada rider, Sanni Salisu, reportedly slumped on his bike and died during a controversial police stop-and-search operation in Moniya on Friday 24th April. According to police, he suddenly developed what appeared to be an epileptic seizure and became unresponsive before being rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead. However, the incident sparked outrage, with angry residents attacking and burning parts of the Kara Police Outpost, injuring an officer and destroying property. The officers involved are now in custody as investigations begin.

The fact that a police officer murdered a Nigerian youth publicly, in front of many youths watching, and still left the scene without anyone taking action is crazy. I can 100% guarantee that doesn’t happen in the North, at least not publicly in front of many people watching.

They didn’t just take a motorcycle. They took a son. 💔💔💔💔💔 Sani Salisu Basaura a trader from Jega LGA, Kebbi State travelled to Ibadan to make a living. He sold foodstuffs. When business was slow, he rode okada to survive. He returned home for Sallah to celebrate with his family. Then he went back to Ibadan weeks ago. His family never saw him alive again. Here’s what happened, according to his cousin: Police stopped Sani and tried to seize his okada. During a struggle, an officer allegedly struck him in the chest close to his heart. He started vomiting blood immediately. He was rushed to the hospital. But doctors said he died before he even arrived. His father is still alive. Sani was his eldest son. His mother? Devastated. His siblings? Shattered. This is not policing. This is not justice. This is a family destroyed over a motorcycle. We demand answers. We demand accountability. #JusticeForSani #EndPoliceBrutality

The cowardice of Nigerians pisses me off so much. A police officer was harassing someone; out of fear, nobody spoke up. The useless officer shot him déad, and there was no outrage. Blood on the ground, but people were busy recording because “e no concern me.” Delta people will be making mouth up and down that “Warri no dey carry last,” but they shot one of your own and you guys let the vehicle go. I pour spit on all of you.

Nigerian police raided avenues and spots on Sunday in Abuja where sex workers usually gather, packed them into a van, and took them to the station where they allegedly took turns raping them. Whenever you see sex workers running when men in uniform approach, their reason for running is worse than you might think. The Nigerian police are bottom of the barrel.

FORCE LEADERSHIP ORDERS DISMISSAL,PROSECUTION OF OFFICERS INVOLVED IN EFFURUN SHOOTING The Nigeria Police Force hereby provides an update on the disciplinary actions taken following the fatal shooting incident of 26th April 2026 in Effurun, Delta State, which resulted in the death of Mr Mene Ogidi. Sequel to the earlier directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, all officers connected to the incident were immediately withdrawn from the Delta State Command and transferred to Force Headquarters, Abuja, where they were subjected to expedited disciplinary proceedings. The Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC), alongside other internal disciplinary processes, has concluded its review. Findings established unequivocally that the principal officer, ASP Nuhu Usman, acted in gross violation of Force Order 237 and other extant regulations governing the use of firearms. His actions were unlawful, unprofessional, and a clear betrayal of the oath to protect life and uphold the law. Consequently, the FDC has recommended the immediate dismissal of ASP Nuhu Usman and other officers found culpable. The Inspector-General of Police has approved the recommendations and forwarded same to the Police Service Commission for ratification in line with due process. Upon completion of the administrative procedures, the affected officers will be handed over to the appropriate judicial authorities for prosecution for their roles in the extrajudicial shooting. The Inspector-General of Police reiterates, in the strongest terms, that the Nigeria Police Force maintains a zero-tolerance stance on extra-judicial actions and abuse of power. No uniform confers the right to take life outside the provisions of the law. Any officer who violates this fundamental principle will face the full weight of disciplinary and legal consequences. The IGP extends his deepest and most solemn condolences to the family of the deceased, Mr Mene Ogidi. He acknowledges the pain and loss suffered and assures the family that this tragic incident will not be treated lightly. The Force is fully committed to ensuring that justice is not only served but seen to be served, in a manner that reinforces public confidence and institutional accountability. Members of the public are urged to remain calm and law-abiding, as the Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in its commitment to discipline, professionalism, and the protection of the rights and dignity of all citizens while ensuring accountability at all levels. @PoliceNG This is a plain murder and displaying of power. And the law stated that whosoever killed anybody, harmless, with or without a justifiable cause should be awarded the same penalty. Those criminals in uniform needs not be investigated because we all witness the scene....

EFFURUN SHOOTING: POLICE ASSURE JUSTICE AS OFFICER FACES DISCIPLINARY ACTION The Nigeria Police Force condemns the fatal shooting of a suspect, Mene Ogidi, which occurred on 26th April 2026 in Effurun, Delta State. Preliminary reports indicate that operatives attached to the Effurun Area Command responded to credible information from Benin Motor Park along the Warri–Sapele Expressway regarding a suspect apprehended by members of a transport union while attempting to waybill a parcel containing a Beretta pistol with four rounds of ammunition. While efforts were being made to take the suspect into lawful custody, the team leader, ASP Nuhu Usman, discharged his firearm in clear violation of extant regulations, resulting in the death of the suspect. The leadership of the Nigeria Police Force has directed the immediate transfer of the officer and his team to Force Headquarters, Abuja, where they would face the Force Disciplinary Committee for summary disciplinary measures and prosecution. The Inspector-General of Police extends his condolences to the family of the deceased and assures them that justice will be served in accordance with the law. He further urges members of the public to remain calm and law-abiding as the disciplinary and legal processes take their course. The Nigeria Police Force maintains a zero-tolerance stance on extra-judicial actions, abuse of authority, and any conduct that undermines public trust.
