Now that they've all been unveiled...here's the rundown on options to watch our Mavs broadcast. I'll do a thread so please read it all and hopefully your questions will ultimately be answered.

Was able to watch the last 4-5 mins of this game last night. Bummed for SMU not to move on, it’s been a long wait for an NCAA tournament win there with some tough losses along the way. Hope that gets rectified ASAP. On the flip side, Miami (OH) spent the season hearing from many they didn’t belong and they certainly showed they did. Games like this from programs like Miami are what make the tournament so great! They’ll be fun to watch moving forward and if they shoot like this again look out.

So I missed this story when it came out but as all of Brad’s work is, it’s excellent. We independently came up with very similar arguments to state Dick Motta’s Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame case. We’ll be discussing some of this on tonight’s broadcast since it’s a Hardwood Classics game celebrating the 45th anniversary season of the Mavs. (Mavs vs Hawks 730p, WFAA/KFAA/MavsTV) It seems it’s held against Motta he has a .479 winning percentage. Of course that’s with coaching the Mavs as an expansion franchise and the Bulls still in their infancy. And Bill Fitch is in at a .460 win pct. Some empirical data: 953 wins is 14th in NBA history and every other coach in the top 15 is in the HoF except current coaches who presumably will be, Rivers and Carlisle. But when Motta joined the Mavs in 1980 he was at the time 3rd in NBA history in coaching wins, with a .550 win pct, and was still at .520 when he left the Mavs the first time in 1987. And despite 6 plus later seasons coaching three at the time struggling franchises (SAC, DAL again and DEN) which dragged his coaching record below .500 he still left for good in 1997 as #3 in NBA coaching victories. It’s taken nearly 3 decades of league history to move him down just 11 spots. And no coach is an imminent candidate to pass him with Spoelstra at 825 and Kerr at 600 as the closest. He’s 1 of 9 coaches to have a 50 win season with 3 diff franchises, won an NBA title and Coach of the Year and went to 2 NBA Finals and 4 conference finals. While he can’t claim those things with Dallas the Mavs hold this distinction - of the 8 expansion franchises since 1980, the Mavs are the only one to win a playoff series by season 4 and make the playoffs in 6 of their first 10 seasons (Motta coached the first 7 seasons of the Mavs). And of course this isn’t an NBA Hall of Fame it’s a Basketball Hall of Fame and who doesn’t admire the story of someone who went from junior high basketball coach to high school, college and then the NBA. He’s more than earned this honor and I hope we get good news on this April 4th!

@TeamSlack4 @wpiootbgw Correct it does...that's why the account is called When Playing It Out Of The Back Goes Wrong not Playing It Out Of The Back Is Always A Mistake (or something of that nature)

Interesting note about the Hawks, owners of a 10 game win streak, who visit the Mavs tonight (730, WFAA/KFAA/MavsTV). Nickeil Alexander-Walker had a career high 41 on Monday vs Orlando. His scoring avg increase of 10.9 ppg from last year (9.4 to 20.3) is the highest in the NBA from one season to another since his now current teammate CJ McCollum jumped 14 ppg (6.8 to 20.8) from 2014-15 to 15-16. NAW will need to maintain that 10.9 ppg increase or better to have the best single season scoring avg increase in the last 10 years as Lauri Markkanen had a 10.8 ppg jump when he went from CLE to UT in 2021-22 and 22-23 seasons.

Cooper’s game vs Cleveland in the Mavs 130-120 road dub was so much fun to see. 27 pts/6 rebs/10 asst/2 blks. The only rookies to hit those numbers in a game with 50+% FG (Coop went 10/17 FG) are MJ (2x), LeBron and Derik Queen. Gave us some fun MavsTV highlights in this one!

@marckestecher Crazy weather this winter as you know. A lot of adventures as a result…probably impacted more sports related travel for teams and broadcasters than I can remember! But all good! Hope you’re well my friend!

Headed to LA. Excited for a Peacock NBA Monday broadcast of Clippers vs Spurs! Should be a great game! As a backdrop to my Sunday of Mavs vs Cavs in Cleveland: This AM, notification hits of both legs of CLE-ORD-LAX flights Sunday evening cancelled due to weather. Rebooked on CLE-CLT-LAX. High anxiety during Mavs game since CLE-CLT flight was scheduled for 6:55 EDT. It was delayed so made it easily but created increasing concern to make CLT-LAX connection. That was slight delayed too so all good. But flying much longer route to avoid bad Midwest weather. LAX arrival around 2am PDT. Good times 😀🏀📺🎙️

A big shoutout to @SkinWade. Always great in his analysis in our home broadcasts but stepped in because of some last minute schedule changes and was the solo analyst in this broadcast and crushed it! And I made him smile when he heard my phone ringtone is Giant Steps 🎷🎹🎵😀

All players have talent and they all compete…sometimes they play well and sometimes the other teams guys lay an egg (like a couple today). They’re 4-19 in the last 23 games. Please don’t waste my time with this and if you’re gonna spend energy hating on the guys wearing our uniform and representing the team at least have the decency to spell the names right

@MFollowill Don't know why they want to win. Killing the chances/odds of getting AJ Dybantsa, Peterson or Boozer. Mavs don't have picks the next few years. Tired of seeing Nemphard, Powell, Cissee and others. Need more dudes.

I think it was fairly clear I was pumped for John Poulakidas in this game. His second NBA game and not only did he score his first NBA points but he ended up with 10 including this important 8 point burst in the 3Q as seen on MavsTV. From Yale, he’s the 2nd Ivy Leaguer in Mavs history along with Dartmouth’s Walter Palmer in 1992-93. The 48th player in NBA history from an Ivy League school
