@copymama It happens to all of us. I spent the best twenty minutes of my year listening to Michigan owl calls on youtube to figure out what owl I was hearing. (Btw listening to owl calls is incredibly soothing.)

My husband and I heard a weird bird call and looked up what it was, then the next day we saw a bird with an unusual red marking and looked that up and SHIT WE’RE BECOMING BIRD WATCHERS AREN’T WE

@MJ_Leaver YES. It took me 5 or 6 episodes to start getting it. At first the characters didn’t feel like real people to me, but as it goes on and they’re fleshed out it becomes wonderful.

Ok..does Schitt's Creek get better? Because I'm near the end of the first episode and despite loving the memes over the years, I've got nothing.

@michellehazen I think Good Will Hunting did it very well. And I can’t stand stories like The Prince of Tides where we’re supposed to sympathize with a therapist who has a romance with a patient 🤮

Does anyone have examples of books or movies that did therapy in fiction well? Ones that did it horribly??

I’m hugely pro-therapy. My degree is in psychology and I worked in the field for 10 years before moving over to writing and book coaching. So why do I hate therapy scenes in fiction? 3 reasons.🧵 #amwriting #writingtips

Traveling tomorrow to see my mom, Roz, for a few days. I'm sure I'll have some pictures of what she's been up to. Today she cooked her special shrimp boil, made soup and bread, and baked 4 dozen (Chocolate Chip and Ranger) cookies. I never go hungry at her house. 😊

I honestly enjoy packing for conferences/conventions. I get to wear all my weird shit. The issue, of course, is deciding between all the weird shit. It's only a 3-day con.

@Author_PCorrell Look when my son was 11 he woke me up at 3 AM (!!!) because he couldn’t handle a hangnail on his own, and now the kid has a full ride to college 🤷‍♀️ It’s all a mystery

@MelJRey I don’t know if this might interest people but I did publish my first book with a big pub. It didn’t do very well. 4 years later I have no publisher and no agent. I’m writing book number 5. So good luck doesn’t always hold out.

A question for Trad Published authors, were you a first time lucky writer in that your debut was the first book you wrote or did you, like seemingly so many, in fact write several books before hitting on publishing success? Curious 👀 #WritingCommunity
