@Neutral_OC Cristian Marian Becheanu is thriving as a professional firefighter today. He serves as Sergeant Major with ISU Dolj in Romania, fulfilling his dream.
He received Romania’s highest emergency services honor as the only civilian recipient in 2021. He is married with children now.
@SmallerFishGAA Promotion wasa great achievement for Wexford, they had already achieved their goal. Winning the final would have been a bonus and they had enough chances, but they’ll not be devastated. Down were poor, not sure how fired up they were for the game. Not too much elation at the end.
What a load of shite - Wexford deserved to win that.
Down played down the last 3 mins and then ballooned it wide
For me Down do too much talking about their ambitions and Sam Maguire football etc
They are a middle of the road team, no different to wexford, Offaly, Kildare, Sligo or Westmeath
@LFCMisha@DavidSSport I’m a Derry man and we had a big performance coming but Cork are a good side and much better than that. Promotion still very much up in the air for all teams involved. You’ll beat Offaly but don’t underestimate Tyrone in Healy Park. We’ve Louth (A) and Cavan (H) so nothing easy.
That’s some hiding for Cork. Didn’t see it coming. I guess if they were gonna lose, losing big was probably the best outcome for Meath. Few twists to come yet though.
I wonder are Derry ever going to win a game of football ever again. This has to be some sort of record for a team to have won back to back ulsters and now hasn’t won a game of football in league or championship in regulation time since 2024.
@AaronMaher95 You had Cork losing to Kildare last weekend when they were actually playing and defeating Meath. They will beat Derry this weekend. #Corcaighabú
@ailbeoreilly We’ve been very good in our last 2 games Ailbe scoring 2-25 and 1-31, but it’s very early days. After a nightmare 18 months with no wins we were due a run as we’ve still good players. We’re in the mix for promotion now. We’ll be big underdogs in Ulster but a wee run would be nice
Massive result for Derry. A team I'm expecting a huge season from this year. They've a lovely draw in Ulster. Could be a big day for Derry people in Clones in May!!
@KildareFan2025 There’s a difference between biased and disrespectful. Calling the Derry management “a disgrace” and slating our players. “Ulster teams” is a bit more respectful than “Northerners”. @AlanGunn2429 always shows total respect to other teams when he’s commentating on our home games
All the Derry folk giving out about the biased coverage on KFM. It's a bloody local radio station covering a game for a local audience. Maybe the question should be why did you have to rely on KFM? Why didn't Radio Foyle bother sending someone down to cover the game?
@Leonlight97@fringe888@SmallerFishGAA Were you at the game or listening to home supporters? Gough hates @Doiregaa & @UlsterGAA teams and sent Conor off in a Hogan Cup final for nothing. Derry played all the football in the 2nd half outscoring Kildare by 7pts. You didn’t think to comment on that at the end of the game
Kildare lead Derry by 4 after playing against strong wind, rain sleet and snow
Fluke of a goal by Brian McLoughlin
Both teams had a man sent off (Glass and Bernie)
Derry had 2 black cards too, down to 12 at one stage
@UselessSpy@ThoNg676733 This is Belfast city centre where the music and dancing is happening. The video may have been taken on someone’s phone and posted from somewhere else but this is definitely Belfast in the video I can assure you.
@Anthonyfarrel13@KillianM2 That’s where I was too. Serious overcrowding on the hill as well. Stewards were taking cash outside the gates and there was at least 5,000 in the ground without tickets. There could have been serious crushing that day. We never made it back to the final sadly.
@KillianM2 Was on the hill that day . Some crowd on it . We had no tickets and 5 of us give a steward 35 punt between us to get in . That's the way it was back then . Different times
@harrylewsley1@neil_loughran@irishnewssport Tyrone are not a bad team, maybe inexperienced in some areas last night, but they’ve a squad full of quality players. @Doiregaa wanted and needed the win more. @TyroneGAALive will be in the shake up in the latter stages of the All Ireland with Malachy O’Rourke at the helm.
“I heard a lot of commentary to the effect that these lads are damaged, they’re out of date, there are serious question marks about their character…”
Ciaran Meenagh came out fighting as Derry’s winless run finally came to an end against Tyrone tonight
irishnews.com/gaa/gaelic-foo…
Fiinally, after 2 years of torture, we win a game. Well done @Doiregaa. 🙌 This was more than just 2 pts, it’s the huge monkey off our back that we can’t win a game. A fantastic team effort and some brilliant individual performances. Delighted for the players and @ciaranmeenagh.
@lemallon@SportTG4 100% Damien. @SportTG4 without doubt provide the best GAA coverage in the country and it’s top class. Repeatedly showing replays and missing kickouts is the one small fault In their brilliant service which I’m sure is easily fixable. #gaa
How can @SportTG4 still not realise watching a kick out is far more important than a replay. They are one of the most important parts of the games. Please please sort it out.
@thomasniblock Should only be from play Thomas. You shouldn’t get 1 point for a 45 and 2 points for a placed ball nearer the goalposts. You either get 2 for both or 1 for both.
@somearagaa@GlenullinGAC Red card for the Derry man who wrote Glenullen, Stephen.
You’re right ‘Glen’ used more than Watty Grahams, however their chant is often up the Wattys.
To add more confusion, Glenullin is often just called ‘The Glen’ and people born there are very proud of their Glen roots.
Noted, Martin. I won't promise I'll use the John Mitchel's bit every time, no more than I've never heard anybody in Derry refer to Glen as Watty Graham's. But the correct spelling is noted.
In my defence...we played them with Lavey in the league last year and a Derry man entered that spelling in my software!
NEWSFLASH - the first time Glenullen went man-on-man vs an Gaeltacht they were carved open
