@osuzack No conference championship games, 28-team playoff with P4 conference regular season winners getting byes and all conference champs having a spot. The next 19 at-larges go to all 2-loss or less teams, followed by committee choice

I think we're all talking about the CFP rankings too much. There are 2 weeks left- lots will change. Just like in 2014 when #2 TCU won their final game 55-3 and then dropped to #6, leaving them out of the Playoff. TCU went on to beat #9 Ole Miss 42-3 in the Peach Bowl. I got off topic. Sorry. Fuck college football honestly.

@NicoleAuerbach I think the alternative is to give conferences with >16 teams at least 4 teams in a conference championship playoff. Shrink the CFB to 6 (power four champs +2) and grow the intra-conference post season; more teams make post-season games, doesn’t add games

There's no real need for conference championships with the College Football Playoff. You could go by standings and save the wear and tear. But those games are valuable to the leagues themselves, so teams sitting guys/trying to avoid playing in them is a bit of a nightmare.

@CFBNerds Yeah they definitely wouldn‘t shorten the regular season for this but if every power conference had an extra championship week and you shrank the CFP to 6 teams it would actually allow 16+ teams in the post-season without adding extra weeks

@MGromowsky They’d never do this because $. You’d need to shorten the regular season for 134 teams to add some games for just a handful of teams

What they told us: "Conference expansion means more big games!" The reality is at least 3 of the top 4 in each power conference avoid playing each other: - Oregon, Indiana, and Penn State - Texas, Alabama, and Ole Miss - SMU, Clemson, and Miami - BYU, Iowa St, and Colorado

@ClayTravis The ideal post-season would be each conference having their own internal playoff of 4-6 teams. The winners of the B1G, SEC, B12, ACC, and next best 2 teams NOT in one of those conferences (Notre Dame, Go5) make a 6-team playoff.

Honest question, does anyone actually think Indiana, BYU, Miami or Notre Dame would beat Alabama, Ole Miss or Georgia on a neutral field? I don’t. These playoff rankings are a joke.
