Hear me out. Weston McKennie: False 9
U.S. Soccer Men's National Team@USMNT
WES WES WES YES YES YES
English

@BreidenFehoko Any thoughts on Reese? Seems like he has a ceiling as an edge but worst case, still a very good OLB?
English

@KFCBarstool Cities should fix themselves instead of crying about the messengers
English

“A) they’re right…” welp then that’s it! Can’t be upset about truthful commentary on your city just bc it hurts your feelings!
Also talking NYC politics & homelessness vs STL social life are very different, BUT even if it wasn’t - ppl say that stuff about NYC all the time.
Annie Frey@anniefreyshow
Mets broadcasters trash St. Louis on air: “No people anywhere.” Annie says it's completely classless. You don’t visit another team’s town and rip the city like that. Would Cardinals announcers trash NYC’s crime, homelessness & chaos? #STLCards #LGM
English

@BearsPurgatory @chrisalta Yeah I get that…just feel like he can still get in the box as an CM with Adams holding back and he’ll still be a focal point on sets etc…Interesting dilemma
English

@MHDU24 @chrisalta Well I think Weston is in the best form. So moving him back will affect his attacking opportunities.
English

This is the best lineup. If we don’t play a 3 back system we very well may get grouped. The best option for the #USMNT🇺🇸 is to play a 3-4-2-1✍️.
Pochettino needs to stop tinkering and goofing around and stick to this. I’ve done the work for you, Poch👨💻. Use this lineup and we will make some noise. We should compete in this #WorldCup🏆. Anything less is a failure and unforgivable.
Side note, I prefer this lineup orientation even though it’s opposite what lineup builder wants. Get over it🤫.

English

@BearsPurgatory @chrisalta I agree which is why I want an extra attacker out there lol…Weah or Tillman at RAM and McKennie instead of Johnny should help more than hurt in the scoring department, no?
English

@MHDU24 @chrisalta I get what you’re saying. I can see it. I just think we might be lowering our scoring prowess on a team we can’t afford too. We have been so hapless in the final third.
English

@BearsPurgatory @chrisalta He’s been playing everywhere for Juve and I feel like a lot of his goals are from scraps or set pieces so him starting as the attacking CM wouldn’t hurt much. Just prefer having Weah on the pitch instead of 2 DCMs and that’s really the only way
English

@MHDU24 @chrisalta I just think Wes has been thriving so much in attacking roles at Juve that we would be crazy to not put him in one too.
English

@BearsPurgatory @chrisalta Weah in at RAM, McKennie in for Johnny, possibly Freeman in for McKenzie even though he’s not a CB. But I like the lineup overall and wouldn’t have issues with it
English

@chrisalta I think you’re underestimating Tyler. He is everywhere. He can push forward and support an attack but will also get back and help and organize defensively. I don’t feel great about Johnny but I think he’s the best option we have right now
English

@cheefrocka37 @TheJetPress Fair enough, guess it could be him then…Taking a QB at 2 with QB concerns is really dumb though and they got what they deserved
English

People saying Becton but Saleh didn’t draft Becton, he inherited him from Gase.
Feels like this is an Elijah Moore reference if anything.
Easton Freeze@eastonfreeze
Robert Saleh’s two cents on character concerns in the draft. Who do we think he’s alluding to at the end?
English

@cheefrocka37 @TheJetPress I agree I’m just saying I don’t remember that being an issue for Zach pre-draft, who knows maybe it was
English

@MHDU24 @TheJetPress I don't think character issues always = troublemaker. I think lack of leadership, arrogance, uncoachability, and mental weakness could fit under character issues.
English

@cheefrocka37 @TheJetPress Not arguing that, the whole conversation was about players in the draft with character issues
English

@MHDU24 @TheJetPress I'm thinking Saleh wasn't fired because of Elijah Moore. He was fired because he replaced Sam Darnold with super-soft ZW, which led to the failed Rodgers experiment. ZW was replaced in-season with numerous backups. Saleh thought they were drafting a stud, but got a puss.
English

@cheefrocka37 @TheJetPress Did Zach have character issues pre-draft? I know Elijah Moore had a couple of things going on pre-draft so it almost has to be him
English

@TheJetPress I thought Zach, too. Zach was weak. He doesn't have the mindset to play the position or be a team leader.
English

@Union_Levi @usmnt_historian John Brooke’s goal and the Algeria goal are up there for me
English

@Joelazo_10 @11Yanks He looks like he belongs which you can’t say for most of our CBs, I wouldn’t mind this defense….Put in Dest at RWB and Weah at RAM if he’s available
English

@WillyLumpLump22 @11Yanks Some truth, but the full and correct A team can compete
English

@StrongIslandJay @RichCimini Because he’s on the hot seat regardless….night as well have some fun when you need a miracle to even keep your job another year
English

Glenn on Geno Smith: "He's the guy that's going to lead us to the promised land." #Jets
English

@karrius1994 @usmntonly I don’t think about better than anyone, he’d be on the same group as our top players though. He just had the hype of Mbappe and isn’t even a definite starter for Portugal. Very good player regardless though obviously
English

@MHDU24 @usmntonly He’s still better than any player we’ve produced. Like we can’t be making comments. Talking about a team we’re not even close to the same level as lol
English

João Félix on the USMNT ahead of USA-Portugal 😯
