High motor guy. Elite first step. Coaches swear by his leadership qualities and his wings give him rare length for the position. Stiff, almost plastic-like hips though. Poor pursuit angles + an overaggressive tackler. Still an elite locker room guy with a high ceiling. B+ pick.

while i agree with the overall sentiment, this is a really bad analysis of the Jets CB room and has clearly been written by someone who does not have a pulse on the current roster

CBS Sports says the Jets’ biggest remaining offseason priority is cornerback: "If the Geno Smith union does not work, then the bottom could fall out quickly. Cornerback has the lowest floor on the roster. Nahshon Wright has been a volatile performer throughout his career. They need Brandon Stephens, Azareye'h Thomas and/or Jarvis Brownlee Jr. to adequately fill the other starting cornerback role."

Bell averaged 3.2 YPC in his only year with the Jets and was also like a top 3 worst signing in franchise history. You can definitely point to Gase and external factors as reasons why, but I think it’s fair to put him here (even if I preferred Gore slightly).

@jahfromtheve1t I noted in the initial tweet that it was weighted for various factors, including expectations and negative impact. I honestly don’t even think Trumaine was better than Hall, and even if he was, we’re talking 5th round pick vs maybe biggest bust FA signing in Jets history lol.

@jahfromtheve1t Roberts wasn’t a nickel and Skrine and Kyle Wilson were worse IMO + had worse vibes. Zero shot Hall makes it over one of the worst FA signings in Jets history lol. Hall was fine. I argued for Gore over Bell fwiw, but got overruled on the basis of expectations/ overall impact.

@TheJetPress I already commented Darryl Robert’s should’ve been starting over buster skrine , if we going by 10 minimum starts Bryce hall is starting over Trumaine Johnson , Matt forte or frank gore is starting over leveon , I can keep going but I can’t write that much in less characters

@Malgo_1 Stephens is penciled in as CB1, he is not competing for a job this summer and any analysis suggesting he is is blatantly incorrect. Wright is competing with Thomas to be CB2. Ponds likely competing with Brownlee for the nickel job, although he might play some outside too.
