Makes me think the Jets just soured on Wentz because you’d think a QB2 job behind Geno would be more appealing than QB3 in Minnesota. Curious to see the Jets’ plan at this stage. Options are limited, Tyrod feels more and more likely.

@li_jets It’s also about timelines. A lot of $ devoted to a CB when you’re not close to contending. Plus does the value Sauce provides on his contract surpass the value you’d receive from the draft picks on their contracts? Ultimately we’ll see, but there’s a good chance he wouldn’t IMO

@TheJetPress For short term I agree you should consider the contracts but long term I don’t. If you hit on the picks, you’ll be paying the money (or more) anyway. Ironically, the Jets draft picks will likely eat the same amount of cap for the next 2 yrs due to the contract structure

@li_jets I’ve always thought that’s an incomplete way to look at situations like this. The value of the picks isn’t just the players you get, but their contracts. It’s the value players like that have on roster building. There’s so much supplementary value beyond surface level stuff IMO
