@GY1Matt@JohnFernandez1@ci_aviation Haha there’s always that I guess…LCY such a convenient airport though I don’t mind paying a bit extra, but Aurigny pricing coupled with lack of reliability is getting ridiculous!
Guernsey's States-owned airline has been projected to make a £5m loss this year.
The President of STSB has blamed "cannibalisation" of passengers on the services to London by the new British Airways Heathrow route.

@GuernseyPress I’ve already booked flights ex LCY for the summer…anyone know if they’re likely to be scrapped straight away or from the winter 26 timetable?

British Airways to imminently announce a new route between 🇬🇧London Heathrow & 🇬🇬Guernsey, flights commencing Summer 26
Once launched, Aurigny's existing 🇬🇬Guernsey - 🇬🇧London City route is understood to be under threat & other routes may see fare rises

⚠️ SERVICE UPDATE 18:30 ⚠️
Traffic in Thurrock remains extremely congested. Services are badly impacted and will be running sporadically until things can move again.
44 & X80 Remains suspended.
We still advise against all but essential travel at present.
@DrHoenderkamp My Nan moved to East Ham in the 50s from Stratford, it was seen as a nice area to raise a family. The whole East End is filthy now, sadly. No pride or respect for the neighbourhood. Interesting to read Calum’s story, a product of your determination and work ethic Renee.
“While my mother worked herself to the bone and did incredibly well to get us out of a rat-infested flat above a kebab shop in East Ham and into a far better environment in north London, we were a working-class family and I was always acutely aware that many of my peers seemed to be playing to a different set of rules to me.”

@virginmedia Hi, due to the warehouse problem, the hub for my upgrade has still not been sent. Will my service be disconnected within 5 days per the text?! My current (old) router is working fine, but new contract started yesterday. Can I still use it?

@djh84@SimonCalder Understand, as I said, it’s a strike in all but name…surely RMT & Avanti shouldn’t actually be calling it a strike though? More a case of lack of staff to run a service without overtime.
Christmas rail strikes are back on Avanti West Coast.
RMT union has called out train managers on 22, 23, 29 Dec in a dispute over payments for rest-day working. Most trains linking London with Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow will be cancelled

@SimonCalder Service is abysmal vs fares @AvantiWestCoast train managers calling a strike without giving 14 days notice. They say it’s not a strike, just not working their days off, yet Avanti website & RMT are calling it a strike. End result, customers lose out again despite recent govt deal
The UK has the highest rail fares in Europe: so says campaign group T&E.
The survey looked odd (I've travelled in Switzerland).
So I studied the raw data.
It includes a £74 fare for the half-hour, 50-mile hop from London to Milton Keynes.
Actual price: £17

@DrHoenderkamp@drdavidbull Gutted to lose the two of you together at breakfast! ☹️ Thanks for the fun & I really enjoyed all the informative medical chats.
@SeanM1997@BlipPlip Pleased they are keeping LCY. Small airport, run very well. Better for Islanders short breaks to the city to arrive directly in London.
Aurigny will not return to Liverpool, London Stansted, and Newquay in Summer 2025, with other routes likely to be cut too

@MICH30 Hi, it eventually repositioned back to Guernsey from Jersey as GR2401 on the same day but in the evening (landed at 18:34). It likely would’ve had the original passengers on board but I’m not 100% sure.
Passengers flying to/from the Channel Islands today expect delays, diversions and cancellations due to fog across much of the area. This is restricting aircraft’s ability to land. #aviation#fog#delays
Update:
GR401, London (LCY) - Guernsey (GCI).
🔀 Diverted to Jersey (JER).
This flight will likely reposition to Guernsey later in the day should conditions improve.
