What a privilege to host an Iftar meal for Muslim friends at Lambeth Palace Library this week. It has been helpful to listen to the perspectives of a diversity of British Muslims about the challenges many are facing right now, including the persistence of anti-Muslim hatred.

@MINAB_UK has held a number of meetings with Imams and other faith leaders since the appalling and vile act of burning the #Quran in #Sweden. # #MINAB strongly condemns the burning exercise and believes it to be a “disrespectful, disgraceful and Islamophobic act”.

Attended a meeting in Preston organised by Light Foundation, prominent leaders of the Hindu and Muslim communities primarily from the North West of England, including civic leaders, senior Police officers representing Lancashire Constabulary.

Yesterday our Birmingham Quran Academy led a remembrance service to commemorate our fallen heroes and the sacrifices made in the world wars. The academy has also developed a module on this topic as part of its citizenship curriculum m.facebook.com/story.php?stor…

In #Leeds we remembered millions of people of all faiths & beliefs who served in #WW1 & #WW2 laying down their lives 2 protects our freedoms.We also remembered all those who’ve suffered as a consequence of conflicts across the world #RemembranceSunday #LestWeForget #Remembrance

This month is #IslamophobiaAwarenessMonth islamophobia-awareness.org with the theme this year of #TacklingDenial.

During the visit to #Karbala, met with some scholars from #Shia community, esp. Sayed #Qazwini brothers. Shared some of the work @MINAB_UK is doing. Discussed that divisive views of extremists will only be defeated through religious leadership working together on communal issues.

Friday 21st October is Adoption Friday @MINAB_UK will be joining @madoptionfamily campaign to help reshape attitudes around adoption and support adopting families. Mosques will be delivering a talk or #khutbah on the day. bit.ly/MAFNAW22 to register for the event.
